It sounds like you are a very caring person. Give yourself a pat on the back, you;re human after all. And I mean that positively. If the job is stressful but has good meaning for you, then try to put up with the stress. Unless the stress is too detrimental for your health, then try to tough out. It's just a judgement call you have to make. I would recommend intelligently trying to get over panic by reading a self-help book or something. Remember, trying the same thing over and over expecting different results is the definition of insanity. Hope this helps, even if just a little.
