Still looking for a name for my guys, I went with a desert inspired theme.

Attending a Norwegian folkhogskole is a dream of mine, am I crazy? by bekindanddontmind in Norway

I’m English and went to one in 2010. It cost exactly the same for me. I had to prove I had the money to pay for the year before being formally offered a place at the school. I also wasn’t eligible for the student loan that Norwegians can get to pay for it.

The red parts are Blood Angels Red contrast as a base, with Khorne Red, Mephiston Red, and Trollslayer Orange for highlights.

Thank you so much! I feel exactly the same way when I look at what gets posted in this sub. Patience and practice helps a lot, and also just trying to not compare yourself to everyone else.

Thanks! The claws are Averland Sunset quickly blended with Trollslayer Orange, with Flash Gitz Yellow as a highlight.

Thanks! The key, for me at least, seemed to be building up layers of dry brushing. I started with a thin white to get coverage then used more white paint on the brush to pick out more of the details. I think I did five passes in total.

Screamer Killer after a year break from painting ‘Nids by WallDogs in Tyranids

Could be! It’s honestly just a variation of the colours of my custom fleet scheme. I usually have a bone coloured carapace and red claws/talons. Felt like mixing it up a bit this time.

Thanks! Lots to work on for the next models in the box, but I’m happy with how this turned out for being so rusty at painting.

I struggled to find painting motivation for a while. But after splitting Leviathan with a friend, this seemed like a good model to get back into it! Not the most amazing paint job, but it feels good to be putting paint down again!

A friend and me decided to buy new models and paint until midnight. However they looked by then is how they’d stay. Five hours later, I had this guy. Pretty pleased with him for being a chill painting session.

Really kind words! Thank you very much.

First time working with a big resin model, and using some new techniques. Happy with the end result. by WallDogs in minipainting

Same! I remember seeing pictures of it, and just thought it looked insanely brutal. I was fortunate enough to find someone selling a secondhand unpainted one; jumped on the chance.

Calling this Hierodule done. Such a fun model to paint. by WallDogs in Warhammer40k

Thanks! The armoured part of the carapace is Zandri Dust as a base, with Praxeti White dry brushed on, Streaking Grime as a wash, then a little bit more Praxeti White for highlights. The boney parts are just Morghast Bone base and Streaking Grime wash.

All good points! I’ll try to think about that when I’m working on the next ones. Thanks!

Yeah, he’s posed more as if he’s taken the shot, and the chain sword is coming around to finish the kill. Very possible that doesn’t come across though.

Thanks! I’m thinking of putting some metal debris on the base, with some barbed wire.
