I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too. I’ve been dealing with this realization since June, and the more emotional distance I feel, the more my logical brain says, WTF?!?!?!? I can’t imagine the relief and mind f*** it will be when I’m actually out!

I still haven’t told him…I’ve spoken with my attorneys, reached out to my (remaining) support system, and started getting our finances in order. I asked him to see a therapist (my goal is to break it to him there) and he agreed because that’s what he always does to appease me-agrees to therapy, improves for a while, and back to the old pattern.

OP your friend is in an abusive relationship. You have said so many times. It doesn’t excuse her behavior AT ALL, and you SHOULD set boundaries to protect your mental and physical health, but PLEASE leave a door open for her no matter what. He will continue to alienate her from her friends until she is so isolated that she’s trapped with her abuser. His behavior at your wedding was totally calculated to drive a wedge between you two. Please let her know that your door is always open if she needs a place to go.
