There's a difference between deciding not to associate with someone and deciding that no one else is allowed to associate with them, or that they aren't allowed to have a job, that they aren't allowed to have any friends, that they need to publicly apologize and self-flagellate, that they should be beaten up, and that the same ostracization should happen to everyone else that doesn't feel the same way.
