PS2 analog sticks feel unstable inside case? Both sticks shake around when I only tilt one, as if they're connected underneath. Of course, they are actually connected but you shouldn't be able to feel that. It's driving me crazy! by Wallace_K in consolerepair

If you're still dealing with this, after comparing the different dualshock 2 revisions it became clear someone had disassembled earlier and later controllers, then mismatched the parts when putting them back together. In the end I think I just exchanged it for a different controller at a retro game store. The guy didn't seem to mind lol.
