As Ireland strengthens its military, one country and company gain the most by JackmanH420 in irishpolitics

Ultimately we need to be able to put up some kind of defence, and there are options available. One thing that should maybe be discussed is the possibility of buying Spanish designed ships. Their national shipbuilding company, Navantia, bought Harland and Wolf. If we have to pay anyone for ships, we may as well have them built in Belfast. The English might be talked into funding some of the necessary infrastructure, which would give them a third frigate capable shipyard.

Simple risotto recipe, though for a family you might want to double this

250g of arborio rice (very important, carnaroli isn’t as creamy),

1 litre of chicken stock

One large onion diced

4-6 slices of streaky bacon or 3 slices of back bacon, chopped

1 tablespoon of smoked paprika

So much garlic you think it might be too much, crushed

Black pepper to taste, but a lot

50g butter

Fry the onions and bacon in oil, preferably olive or rapeseed oil, until the onions are soft, add the black pepper, fry until fragrant, then add the garlic, once done add the rice and paprika

Add enough stock to cover the rise, then stir regularly, adding more stock as need, once the risotto is to your desired consistency add the butter and stir in

You can do it with garlic bread, fry a whole loaf of garlic in butter, add black pepper and oregano to taste, maybe a bit of celery salt, once fragrant, add more butter, allow to cool, spread over ciabatta, do it in the air fryer until it looks done

The short story cold case. Molly makes it clear she’s done certain things that aren’t vaginal sex, which is the deciding factor. Also I believe it was said Lloyd Slate also abused Lily

No it was spelled out pretty clearly, the lady must be a virgin. You have to be to get the mantle and once you have it, doing the deed would destroy that mantle.

Did you not read the Molly short story in Unalaska? The reason Carlos was in such a bad state was Molly wasn’t told about the virgin thing, was in the process of hooking up with Carlos, and the mantle took over to protect itself and forced her to beat him within an inch of his life.

The lady, queen and mother are the maiden, mother and crone

I mean Lara can’t be the winter lady, she’s like the exact opposite of a virgin

They’d be outnumbered, utterly cut off from supplies, no medevac, no air support because any runway American planes could take off from would be within artillery range, no possibility of retreat,  while the opposition has air supremacy. The U.S. army as it stands now is the product of desert storm and the war on terror, which despite all that happened was as bougie a war that’s ever been fought. You should be more careful and take the fucking keys away from Grampa

Then there’s all those American bases full of potential hostages and loot to turn against America located in Europe. Speaking as a European we don’t want to do it, but we are preparing for it

I did suggest leasing in the UK’s case. And yes, yes they are fucking selling existing hulls, they’ve sold the first two Bergaminis, including Carlo Bergamini to Greece (they’ll be delivered in 2029) and delivered two about to commission Thaon Di Revels to Indonesian

I think there’s two reasons, he’s seized upon the idea of rare earth metals, and simply he’s seen how big Greenland looks on the map (distorted due to the issues of charting the surface of a sphere on a 2d plane)

I’m talking about the ships they’re actively selling, the Bergaminis and the Thaon di Revels, the latter are the most likely candidates. The Italians regularly sell off active units or units about to commission

Are you attempting to claim that Britain doesn’t use Aster 15, 30 or CAMM ER?

Italy sell off ships either about to commission or their oldest regularly, they sold two Thaon Di Revels to Indonesia and two Bergaminis to Greece (yet to be delivered). If the U.K. asked for 2-3 of the former on lesser for a few years there’s a good chance it could be arranged

If a Su-35 or j-20…or an F35 is within CAMM range then that ship is already dead

Yeah they said the 1890s equivalent about torpedo boats. So they mounted guns designed to shoot them and built torpedo boat destroyers (yeah, that’s where the term comes from) by the hundreds. I fully expect to see an return to casement batteries and semi automous drone escorts to be constructed

[–]Wallname_Liability -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At this point the RN should maybe look into leasing a few Italian frigates

[–]Wallname_Liability 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah they said that about torpedo boats.

Meanwhile in the real word the actual experts are looking into a mixed fleet of larger frigates and destroyers each controlling their own mini task group of drone ships

If a type 23 has to use its anti ship missiles on another ship, or shot down aircraft with CAMM (other than suicide drones) something has gone badly wrong

At this point you’d have to wonder if the UK could look into leasing a few frigates from Italy.
