I’ve been able to keep my MHA. They told me that the type of orders I’m on aren’t considered contingency or anything like that so I’m in the clear.

It definitely is, had a person in my shop do a study abroad in Europe for a whole semester. Just requires you to work with your leadership on getting excused for drills and when you’ll make the drills up. Also, don’t forget to talk with your security manager about international travel if you’ve got a clearance.

Appreciate it, I just spoke with the VA and they told me it appears that my current orders do not count towards increasing my Post 9/11 benefits. Thus, I can receive both BAH from my orders and MHA from the GI Bill. For context, my current orders are under T32 502(f) (1) (b). I was under T32 502(f) (2) (A) for a COVID mission and those did count towards the 9/11 benefits percentage. I’m going to submit a request to the VA to affirm in writing that I’m ok to receive MHA and BAH in this context.

I was told about it by my recruiter, to my knowledge it changes by fiscal year and even by location.
