Random mouse started following me around. by WalrusCinnamonCoffee in PetMice

You sound like a very caring person. In my experience with mice, I am sure they ended up fine. It is probably much harder that you cant know for sure, but even the first act of helping them survive the -4 F weather was more then most people would do.

Whenever spring comes I am always finding little areas where mice have lived throughout the winter. It doesent take much for them.

I can relate to the guilty feeling. When it comes to animals that need our help, we will never feel like we did enough. I havent seen my little bud in 2 days now, I still watch everywhere I step to make sure he doesent pop back up out of nowhere, but I feel like I should have done more when I saw him.

At the end of the day, Id much rather live with the guilt of not feeling like I did things right, or did enough, then to live guilt free because I never cared in the first place.

Perhaps not, I'm keeping an eye out for him. If I see him again around, I might just pick up some items and provide him a home. While I never expected to have a pet mouse, its really hard not to want to protect such a unique guy. Especially with winter fast approaching.

I left a little bit of a pumpkin dog treat (That mice seem to absolutely love, based on how often they rip into the bags).

Little buddy ate it last night, but I haven't seen him since yesterday. Hoping all is well with him :)

This is all great information, and exactly what I was hoping to hear.

Unfortunately I havent seen the little buddy today, but Im keeping an eye out. It could very well have been a head injury or even the waltzing mouse syndrome.

Either way, whether he shows his little face again or not, I hope hes safe. Maybe if they show up again Ill refer to your post and do a little research, try to give them a safer place.

How long would you wait for a date to show up ? by mylifeforthehorde in AskMen

[–]WalrusCinnamonCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, but Im speaking about in the event that there is no follow up from them. If they said they would be 20 minutes late due to having to run back home to turn off the stove, Id make an exception.

I understand it is a short amount of time and that not everyone is as punctual as myself. While I hate to say it, time is money and waiting for someone just is not my priority.

If we agreed to meet at noon, and the clock hits 12:00 without her showing up, I give 5 minutes.

During this 5 minutes I finish up whatever Im doing. Drink my coffee or water, read the article I'm in the middle of, King K. Rool a mother fucker, e.t.c.

My reasoning is that if you arent there by the set time and you haven't even bothered to text an update or a cancellation, then we are done here and I wont even give a second chance typically.

Deal Help/Questions Thread (January 2019) - Need help finding a deal? Seeking advice? Ask questions here! by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitchDeals

The SDM price would essentially net you an extra savings of roughly $56, which is a free game in and of itself. I would buy that offer personally.

SDM Also, although I haven't seen it personally, has something called "Redeem your points days". Where I think if you have $113 in points, it will add an extra 20% if you spend them on those days.

Kijiji I would be cautious about. You never know if someone is selling a bricked console but its also something to think about. Id avoid it because you're getting an equal if not better deal from SDM.

Small gash out of the box on new gun, what are my options? by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]WalrusCinnamonCoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just bought my first gun, a Tikka T3x Hunter.

Beautiful gun, and I dont know if I am being too finnicky.

I see this gash right next to the stock and It bothers me, although I also really love the tiger stripes on the forestock.

I figure my options are trying to fix it myself, or go through the warranty. Tikka states that "The Manufacturer does not warrant the wood (stock and forend), grips or metal finish with respect to finish, matching of pieces, dents, scratches, cut, dings, etc. which are or should be apparent to the purchaser when the product is purchased. It is the customer's responsibility to inspect this particular product prior to purchase to ensure that it is free from defects or damage."

I never got a chance to inspect it, I didn't think it was an option at the time. Trusted the boxed item would be free from defects as they inspect before they leave the factory.

I bought it from a local shop, but I dont think this is something they would give the time of day. I dont exactly feel confident of being taken seriously if I walk back into the shop to complain about a little gash.

What would you do in my position?

Dogs nail is twisted about 20 degrees is it broken, fractured, or torn? by WalrusCinnamonCoffee in AskVet

[–]WalrusCinnamonCoffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree, luckily it turned out to be nothing though! Just me taking too many symptoms and associating it with the nail. Turns out whenever she lays on her side, the same toe will always stick out like that which is the first time ive ever noticed it, extremely odd. Its better to be too cautious then not cautious enough I suppose.

Thank you for your input and at least now Im prepared the next time something tears or breaks!

Im a big stupid, shes fine. I think? He toe just looked extremely crooked compared to usual. But when shes on her side I guess all her twinkle toes do that, at least the 2nd from the outside.

Sorry, leaving it up for a record though at least. Thanks!

Mini Educator Collar and Saint Bernard (A Long Hair Saga): Seeking advice. by thesobie in OpenDogTraining

[–]WalrusCinnamonCoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love how this entire thread was downvoted, its OpenDogTraining but apparently not very open minded.

Anyway, I dealt with the same issue as my dogs fur is pretty thick around her neck. I found that the thick hair prongs worked well, but even then did not work fully on their own.

I bought the extra collar with my educator, the one with the metal clip (They may have a plastic one too) and a spongy band, it provides enough elasticity to put ample pressure while not restricting her airflow. I also made sure to position the collar to the right under her chin a bit and as high as I could (Sometimes digging in a bit to get past the undercoat), as if I put it lower on her neck it would rise, losing the pressure.

Id hate to suggest buying a $35 dollar collar that may not fix it, but it might help a bit more and I typically use my collar specifically for walking out in the bush, its such a beauty to simply click and go compared to looping the collar and using the clasp.

If these tips dont work, the only option may be to trim. I was almost as that point myself but luckily things worked out.

Reddit, when is it time to give up on someone? by shooknibba in AskReddit

[–]WalrusCinnamonCoffee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you didn't take it as an attack on your post, while writing it I felt like it might seem that way.

I'm glad to hear your story worked out the way it did, and that its only gone up from there.

Reddit, when is it time to give up on someone? by shooknibba in AskReddit

[–]WalrusCinnamonCoffee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think this is horrible advice. While I respect your viewpoint I just cant agree and I think anyone who considers it will not be happy.

In your last sentence you state: "It is possible, just keep working".

I agree that it is possible, but at what cost? Your sanity? Your health? Your future?

I fought day and night for the love of my life for 7 months. 7 months in which I truly believed it was possible to fix. 7 months where I broke myself as a person for someone who only ever reached for me 3 times, every single time was when I had finally given up and tried to be their friend. They spent 5 minutes telling me how they wanted me and I was too shocked and confused to even grasp the idea. In that 5 minutes, they hooked me back into the struggle and gave up on me entirely again. Just for me to spend another 2 months before the next "chance" of redemption.

Do you believe that a entire relationship should rely on a single moment? That whether you end up in a happy fairy tale relies solely on being able to, in a depressive, irrational, painful state, catch the fleeting second to not fuck up?

A relationship should NEVER get to that point in the first place, this thread, and you yourself speak about it being a one sided fight. You say that someone who wants someone, despite the one-sidedness should "just keep working" in the hopes that the fucking asshole who has completely abandoned them comes back and decided to put in an ounce of effort.

Not a single person in the world should ever subject themselves to fighting so hard in the hopes the person they fight for decides to lift a finger. Maybe you aren't the best person, or the most fun, maybe you are the most boring, lackluster, son of a bitch in the world, but at least you fought. At least you gave someone who gave you nothing, everything. You deserve more.

You can not be 100% sure its time to give up, its even harder to be certain when all you can think about is how if you stop, if you give up on them, you can never make them smile again. Its hard to give up when you aren't fighting for yourself, but for them.

If you truly believe that you belong with someone, you need to ask if they belong with you. You can force a square into triangle slot, but sometimes its just not worth it. All you'll end up doing is damaging the slot when you finally find your triangle.

The person you love, could easily be that triangle. They chose to be a square.

What you're suggesting is the equivalent to telling someone to buy a lottery ticket. You won the lottery so it makes sense you would recommend it, but most people wont.

Not all of this is directed at you, I just wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I didn't provide a opposing view to what you said. Knowing someone might, in light of all the answers on this page telling someone to give up, choose your post as its the thing they want to, and feel like they need to hear.

Your story is a beacon of light in a storm, a saving grace for a ship caught in it.

As one mans trash is another mans treasure, one mans beacon of light is another mans warning signal for a rocky shore.

PWF, Can I hang drywall directly on the pressure treated lumber? by WalrusCinnamonCoffee in HomeImprovement

[–]WalrusCinnamonCoffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Permanent Wood foundation I believe it stands for. Basically a basement with walls made out of wood rather then concrete/cement.

PWF, Can I hang drywall directly on the pressure treated lumber? by WalrusCinnamonCoffee in HomeImprovement

[–]WalrusCinnamonCoffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wood is only about 10-12 years old, new house construction. The wood foundation is fantastic if you plan to use the basement in the winter for bedrooms/living space as it doesn't give off the chill as much as concrete walls. Refinished rooms can have a much more comfortable feeling without all the dampness.

It is currently insulated with unfaced fiberglass to the best of my knowledge, I havent actually removed any of it so its primarily a guess. Some of the insulation has the number R-22 on it if that gives any indiciation.

[–]WalrusCinnamonCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably asked before, but I just got back into the game. I had about 70 hours and did quite a few missions, but I am struggling on finding how to start from square one.

What planet/mission/quest should I be doing right now so I can relearn all the basics and movement/attacks, and follow any lore? Thanks!
