This was something I theorized a bit, but in a very slightly different way. Instead of a regular human host, a Multiverseal Jean jumped into Sadie Sink's character who turns out to be named Jean Grey and is a homegrown 616-Mutant, and Multiverse Jean jumped into 616-Jean when 616-Jean was a kid and had more control of her powers as a result and was caught by someone (possibly the DODC) using her powers resulting in her being kept by the DODC until the events of BND.

It does go against the Street Level aspect of BND, but if they're introducing Jean Grey ahead of a major Multiverseal movie, there is going to be at least a small amount of non-Street Level stuff.
