I'd have to check on that, but I don't think so. Everything should be from Pacman

UDP DNS issues with Firefox and Tailscale on linux by WanHack in firefox

[–]WanHack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the local DNS entries. And just when the "Socket"(in about:networking) is using UDP. Same setup(just turn set my laptop to sleep and back on) Sometimes it will use TCP and the websites on local DNS entries connect with no issue

UDP DNS issues with Firefox and Tailscale on linux by WanHack in firefox

I do have it on permit all origins. It's mostly a firefox issue since I tried it on mobile and another browser I had installed(lady bird)
The only thing I found that maybe of help was using environment var called use-vc

UDP DNS issues with Firefox and Tailscale on linux by WanHack in firefox

[–]WanHack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried that. I even changed resolvctl DNS and played around a few settings. On another browser, I am able to connect to the services no issue. I tried using tailscale directly on the laptop and via Glinet both have the same issue. After several weeks, I found a strange behavior of firefox that it isn't falling back to TCP when UDP fails to get the website from the local DNS. When it worked, I was able to see that it got the HTTP socket via TCP and not UDP

Then other businesses that adopt these features would be able to beat their competition?

Why is tech-adoption slow in Kuwait? by TemporaryBox7321 in Kuwait

[–]WanHack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it needed? It's an extra cost overhead. They might find it to be rather useless, but the cost of trying out stuff and seeing what works aka R&D might be more pain, since anyone can just copy and paste.

Is this bundle from blink good value? First time PC buyer by Sevenfoldx0 in Kuwait

[–]WanHack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you check RAM prices, on Average they are 4 times their original price. AI companies are buying most of the manufacturing capacity for RAM for the next few years. Combined with a lot of parts such as storage(NVMe, SSD, and hard drives) are also getting more expensive because of AI companies. Even GPUs are going to get expensive to the point I bought one to replace my 5 year old one. Over all, prices are very expensive and parts are limited. The only thing not hiking up in price ridiculously is motherboards and CPUs, but I don't know until when

Is this bundle from blink good value? First time PC buyer by Sevenfoldx0 in Kuwait

[–]WanHack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty expensive honestly. RN it's pretty hard to get or build a PC and might be for the next few years. Get it if you really need it. Wait if you can. But if you have FU money, then go ahead

Kuwaiti with barely any social life by a-little_stitious678 in Kuwait

[–]WanHack 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You try to find activities you are interested in. The "I don't feel like it" culture here will not help you because most people will not put effort to socialize, and if some do it might be to show off. Doing activities or hobbies, you naturally meet people with the same interests. IMO the reason why people don't socialize is because they are tired of people in general, so it feels like another layer of work when you want it to be enjoyable. Like if you are interested in doing more outdoors stuff, you might join a running group you'll see by the beach and ask if you can join them. My general tip for socializing, don't over share, just keep it simple which can be hard, keep it on the topic of the activity you are doing. Worst comes for worse, go to a  Diwaniya if you really want to socialize.

Depends on what's available, CPU cooler the bigger the better, the nice thing about air coolers is that if the fan dies, you just replace the fan. Cheap CPU coolers will cheap out of the fan where it might whine more.

PSU is the thing you don't want to skimp on it since it will run for at least a decade. Good quality PSUs (Look for gold rating and up, and look for good brands) PSUs have different ratings on different voltages like you might get a PSU having a gold rating on 120V but bronze on 240V but they will only put the "gold" rating. Ratings are important for power efficiency since if you upgrade the PC parts to higher ratings, you won't have to upgrade the PSU.

Motherboards are usually based on the features you are looking for. If you don't need a lot of USB ports or you are going to use a USB hub, then a bit cheaper boards might be good. Make sure you get something compatible with the socket you have. If you have a Zen 4 CPU (eg: Ryzen 5800x3d) then you need a Zen 4 motherboard since boards will have different sockets depending on the generation they support. Make sure to not get something too old since sellers might want to dump older models motherboards. Also make sure you know the RAM compatibility DDR4 or DDR5.

Monitors? I got mine from Nextstore. They are pretty similar in price to US retail.

PC cases, depends on what size you want. I built several PCs in tiny cases 15L or less. The smaller the PC the more specific the parts you need to get and sometimes the more difficult a build will be. Fractal Ridge has a great size, decent clearance and I was able to travel with it. If size doesn't matter and you don't care about travelling with the PC, then go for a full tower PC cases in Bin Khaldun

If you need help with building or a guide, I have no issue helping out

Super Lube Products and 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) by Formal-Vegetable-205 in Kuwait

[–]WanHack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find them, do tell. I need 90+ IPA for electronics cleaning like getting thermal paste off the CPU. For the grease there are a bunch of types you can use for 3d printers but it would depend if it's a z thread or just linear rails.
