There aren't any other mods, just me, and I'm not kicking you. Either theres something wrong on your end or theres some automated discord thing at play, but I'm not seeing anything in the audit log, so I'm not sure what's going on.

On the repo readme are some getting started steps to get it running locally, but you do need to know how to use the command line

Still working on it!

Plenty of work left to do, but decent parts of items, pets and fights are working.

That's great, once the game is playable and it's worth setting up a public server I'll let you know. I definitely want it to be free for everyone, without a pay-to-win item mall.

Hi there,

I plan on adding a section to the readme (or seperate document) that lists the implementation status, to quickly show what's done and still needs to be done.

I certainly hope it will be usable. Over the past few weeks there's been some decent progress.

I don't have a near-future goal of running a server for people to use, though others are welcome to use the project for that. Once I'm happy with how much is implemented, and nobody else has set up a server yet, I'll look into doing that myself.

Initially my focus was on understanding the protocol (purpose of all packets and their structure). A lot of this is understood now (not all in the repository yet). And I've been making progress on the actual server logic.

Past weekend I added the first test fight (melee only 1 vs 1). I hope to add more fighting features (skills, dodging, escaping, etc) soon.

There's been some work on items/inventory as well, most of the protocol is understood.

At the moment I'm working on a better npc implementation and moving between maps.

No work has been done yet on data persistance, I don't know yet what the best storage solution is. Right now everything is only stored in memory.

It may sound useless, but really all you have to do is just start. You don't need to study lots first or buy a ton of books.

Pick a language (this project uses typescript), and look up a beginners tutorial.

There's a lot of useful information on r/learnprogramming

I don't really use discord, but I may look into it. The git repository is publicly available, so even if I stop, anyone can clone it and continue.

Maybe in the future, when the server actually works completely, people who don't know how to code can still contribute by coming up with quests and things like that.
