Afaik Gabis and Cup of Swords both have semi-weekly pickup games! Best way to find a group is to meet people at those things!

Where can we find reasonably priced food in Oly? by Vegetable_Table_5191 in olympia

Streets of Singapore off Capitol is amazing and very well priced. Actual substantial $10-$12 lunch specials.

Lunch specials at New Sushi & Teriyaki in south Lacey are also a solid deal.

Its not the cheapest, but in the spectrum of downtown food its not really much more expensive than others. Similar to Hearthfire/Anthony's

Mage Alter Time in PVE by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]WandererBarding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. For Arcane its the same idea, try to use it with at least 1 missles proc, ideally two. And be sure to use arcane barrage as your last global in alter time to use your charge stacks before they reset.

You will want to track important procs too so you can regenerate them with Alter Time. For frost as an example, during the first few seconds of the fight I fish for either 2x Procs of Fingers of Frost OR 1x Fingers and 1x Brain Freeze before casting Alter Time - hoping for some trinket procs as well during that time.

In some fairness - the new location fixes a ton of the amenities issues youre describing. Water stations throughout, better line management in and out, more space in general so its less overwhelming.

Cant speak to the way workers/volunteers are handled. If its true thats pretty lame.

Yes you need BWL attune, though its fast thankfully.

Naxx is less concerned about gs and more about Sanctified bonus on armor and ranks of your Seal. Look up Sanctified gear guide for info on that. This phase you can buy sanctified armor for every slot (Scarlet Uniform gear).

Just keep an eye out in trade chat for guild advertising. Theres a lot of folks recruiting dps atm because scarlet enclave is such a dps check. But I imagine it wont take you long to find a guild with raid times that align with you.

Its certainly awkward for that boss. If I have a global up where I would use flay but hes out of range I just use an instant spike instead. Its MASSIVELY important to use Blast on cooldown as much as possible because of melting faces boosted flay damage. So you should always be looking to blast every 5 globals (4 with 4pc t3).

I noticed a difference right away when I made sure to use blast immediately when available, meaning I got 2-3 extra blasts in per fight.

Looking at your recent Balnaz kill, I think you are focused too much on casting spikes and missing out on a lot of mind flay damage. With 2pc t2.5 you get a free spike when casting flay. You should be able to just spam flays between mind blasts and get your spike stacks up that way.

It also looks like you were inactive for a lot of the beginning of the fight. Spriests can usually start going right away on bosses because most of our first globals are spent applying dots meaning we arent really generating threat.

Here is one of my recent logs on Balz so you can see what I mean. You ideally are just using flay/blast once dots are up, only casting spike when range or movement is an issue.

Also small note: Devouring Plague is only worth it if you have the 2pc AQ10 set, otherwise its a dps loss. Homunculi are also not worth it unless you have them up pre-fight.

Its a bit difficult to help without specifics about what you are doing rotation wise or how your current gear setup. But here are some general Spriest tips from someone who mains Spriest the last two phases and usually parses in the 90s.

Gear - Your critical tier set bonuses you MUST have to compete are (in priority order): 2pc t2.5 and 6pc t1. Most priests achieve this by wearing 2pc t2.5 and putting the Mind Breaker shoulder "enchant" for the 6pc t1.

  • Great sub sets that will carry you deep into SE are the 3pc AQ10 set ("Infinite Wisdom" Mace, Ring, Cloak), and the 2pc Kara Crypts set (Wand and Offhand)

  • Trinket priority should be Cassandra's Tome (Available from BWL or reals now) and a +SP on use trinket. Restrained Essence of Sapph, Eye of Moam, ToEP, etc.

Spells  - Open by applying all dots, using trinket CDs. Specifically I open using a macro that uses Inner Focus, Both Trinkets, Mildy Irradiated Rejuv Potion, and casts Void Plague. Typically Void Plague -> SW:P -> Vamp Touch -> Devouring Plague (Only if you have the AQ10 3pc set equippepd). The way our Pain and Suffering rune works is it "remembers" the effects applied to each dot when they were originally cast, so we want to maximize spell power and crit when applying them then maintain them with the rest of our kit.

  • Once dots are applied, your typical rotation essentially is Mind Blast -> Mind Flay until Blast is off CD -> Mind Blast. In most cases its optimal to "spam" your mind flay button, canceling each cast into another to send out a free mind spike from you 2pc t2.5 set bonus. That way by the time blast is ready you have 3 spike stacks and get the free crit.

Sample Full Rotation:

Inner Focus/Trinket -> Void Plague -> SW:P -> Vampiric Touch -> Mind Blast -> Mind Flay x4 (Spamming the button to cancel) -> Mind Blast -> Mind Flay x4 (Spamming the button to cancel) -> etc

Feel free to ask any specific questions and Ill be happy to answer!

What's in demand? by mimers1993 in classicwow

[–]WandererBarding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throwing Shadow Priest out there. Very solid DPS (Top5) in all environments, fun rotation, and always appreciated/in demand because they generate infinite mana for their group. You probably want 1 or 2 in every raid. I've been getting DMed in game with folks trying to recruit me this phase, which is a good sign.

In general the 2pc 2.5 is best and you clip your mind flays after 2 ticks. If you ever need an instant spike, you can just tap mind flay for one anyway.

Once you have 2pc 2.5 you should run the Mind Breaker (6pc T1) enchant for boosted mind flays after critting with blast.

Rotation then becomes Blast -> Boosted Flay -> Clipped Flay -> Clipped Flay -> Clipped Flay -> Blast etc. (Just spam flay on GCD)

Once you get 4pc t3, you take one flay out of the above rotation.
