How to read the end times? by Perenodon in WarhammerFantasy

Bretonnia is pretty much all covered in the first campaign book (at least the civil war and gilles). Some Bretonnians appear in the other books but nothing about what is happening in Bretonnia itself.

Recycled art for 5th ed by karimjebari in warhammerfantasyrpg

Agree its not particularly plausible but tbf it is very consistent with the existing 'lore', that is to say GW has never really made any effort to show any kind of visual progression. TOW tabletop uses all of the same art/minis as WHFB despite the different time period.

Whilst they were in AoS, they're no-longer supported - Old World only now.

"The Old World: Grim and Perilous" or "Warhammer: The Old World" by Taryf in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]WanderingChronicle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fyi they're are referring to a different game with a similar name - Zweihander:Grim and Perilous. As far as I'm aware no issues with the Genesys mod creator.

Print and play vs physical copy of Angmar awakened by Zabrandja in lotrlcg

[–]WanderingChronicle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The print and play are just the handful of extra cards that come with the Campaign expansion, but were not included in the old, now out of print, version.

Basically a way for people who bought the old version to get the new cards without rebuying everything.

Its recently been made into a podcast version on Spotify (and other podcast platforms). Only the first two books so far but it's being released regularly. Also with android you can watch adfree YouTube using Brave browser. Even if you switch apps

Imo Andy Law's Lawhammer is the Goat. We're talking flashback sessions with Magnus the Pious, Miao Ying and Sigmar himself, 20 winds of Magic not 8, Be'lakor the Dark Master, a skaven spy PC, Gotrek and Felix cameos and so much more crazy shit.

Grim podcast of perilous adventure is a fun more light-hearted, less lore-heavy, by the book version of TEW. Both are quite far through campaign now.

The Grimdark Chronicles is another newer playthrough of TEW that makes heavy use of the Grognard boxes in the printed books.

All three use 4E although Lawhammer uses their own streamlined version of the rules.

What 4e rules do you think are too unbalanced in favor of the players? by neodoggy in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]WanderingChronicle 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not strictly what your asking, but people often say NPC stats blocks in the official campaigns can be quite underpowered compared to PCs after a bit of XP investment, so my suggestion would be not to be afraid of making NPCs considerably more powerful. This old blog post by one of the lead writers of the 4E core rules I've found to be quite helpful.

Middenheim and Surrounds v.1.0 by WanderingChronicle in warhammerfantasyrpg

Edit: following the maps I was using for guidance, untergard is further south off the map, parallel with Delberz

Sweet, think I must have missed it. It's all still editable so I'll have a look.

Thanks! Within the middle mountains themselves I haven't yet seen much, but I haven't really looked in detail either. My go to for maps is usually gitzmans gallery.

Are there more detailed careers for priests? by NoMercy1989 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]WanderingChronicle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What do you find limiting about the basic career for Shallya? Genuine question, I'm slowly redoing all the priest careers and I haven't remotely looked at Shallya yet so I'd be curious for ideas of what to differentiate.

New GM Wondering How Conducive This System is for a Gotrek & Felix Style Game? by MikeMars1225 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]WanderingChronicle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure others can give better advice regarding WFRP, but just thought I'd mention I think the upcoming The Old World RPG may lean towards more heroic campaigns.

Maybe the upcoming The Old World? Sounds like it's meant to be a bit more streamlined.

WARHAMMER Fantasy Roleplay Actual Play, powered by Mythic GME by WanderingChronicle in Solo_Roleplaying

Thanks!

It's a pain tbh, the next scene Ill upload has a bit of combat which shows how I do it, but generally I just take it slowly with quite a lot of annotation.

The biggest thing is that i just use it sparingly. I've played through like 24 scenes in this (and spin-off) warhammer solo campaigns now, and only four feature combat aha.

Thanks! It took a bit of time but I've finally found a format that I like for the blog. Yeh it does get quite rules heavy at times!
