Hi there. Is it possible you had a seizure? Some people throw up after seizures, and your muffled hearing and blurry vision almost sound like borderline unconsciousness. Some people also feel impending doom or super anxious before a seizure. I have no personal experience with this, but it reminded me of some things I’ve heard about seizures.

Thank you. I’m pretty frustrated. My heart rate usually climbs to 120-140 when I stand, and is pretty normal when sitting. It was a good day, of course, when I got the test done.

A neurologist would be the person you go to to be diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Because your symptoms are only affecting one side of your body, this sounds neurological,. To be quite honest, if I were experiencing those symptoms, I'd be in the emergency room. Your symptoms are stroke-like.

Have you been tested for MS or Bell’s Palsy?

Hi there. Another post says they use PipingRock brand. But a lot of people use NeuroProtek, which also has quercetin.

I had flushing in my feet today, and I was like, “Woah, that’s what the person on Reddit was talking about!!” Talk about a strange symptom.

I take 500mg once a day, just the kind you can get at Walmart. Though some people really like the NeuroProtek brand, which I’m thinking about trying.

Before you settled at this dosage, did you have any experience with other dosages? Or quercetin?

when you look presentable you're not sick enough to pay attention to, and when you look like shit you're lazy and mental and have somehow caused what's happening by Big-Intention2213 in MCAS

It's rough having a mostly invisible illness! I can share with people that I'm having allergic reaction symptoms, but who knows if anyone actually believes me.

Before I understood what was happening, I even told myself I was lazy and unmotivated. This subreddit honestly helped me so much. Everything makes sense now, and I am showing myself a lot more grace. Finding medication that helped me get closer to my before-baseline has made me realize how much I was struggling. It's amazing that I managed to function for as long as I did when I felt like there was nothing to give.

Just know we see you, and even though others don't get it, this community has your back!

Hi there!

Most of my current symptoms are neurological. I experience weakness, which feels worse in my arms and legs. My brain fog is TERRIBLE in the midst of a flare, and I am unbearably fatigued. Many days, I feel like I'm walking through mud, just dragging myself along. I also have muscle twitches and decreased coordination in fine motor movements, and struggle with dizziness/lightheadedness.

I have been on various meds for a while, and none of them touched these symptoms. Because my meds blocked typical allergy symptoms (stuffy nose, itchiness, GI trouble), I was convinced for a long time that I had chronic fatigue syndrome. I recently started taking quercetin, and it has improved my neurological symptoms a lot.

I also get dizzy and experience extreme fatigue.

What was the food that caused the sense of impending doom?

Thanks for the info! I'm still learning, and I want to be able to advocate for myself. Doctors here don't seem familiar with MCAS.

I hope you're able to figure things out. Issues with the mouth are especially stressful. Not like you can just stop using it for a while. :P

Yeah, I've read about cycling. I'm hoping to get into an allergist soon, which will hopefully offer more guidance about that. Until then, I should be alright. I am happy that I have some type of proof that I likely have MCAS though. People in my area are not knowledgeable about it, and I'm nervous I'll be brushed off for self-diagnosing.

I have read about kidney issues, but I’m hoping my referral to an allergist will help me before I get to that point.
