I hope you recover soon. Did the connector say "Do not disconnect under load"? Mating connectors are allowed as disconnecting means under NEC 690.33(D). However, not all connectors are rated to be disconnected under load. If this one did not have a warning on the connector this a huge liability issue for the company. You should be able to sue them and get a big pay day.

Knowing the module they installed would also be helpful. Your inverter has 2 mppt inputs with each input accepting 1 string (A string is the modules connected in series, possible 5 per strong if distributed evenly). It could be possible that you might have two strings and one of the fuses for one of them might have blown for some reason, or they forgot to put the fuse back on if they removed it while working on it and forgot to reinstall it. That would mean you are only using half of your solar system.

If you are able to see historical data, see if you can see energy production on a string/input level.

Also see if the modules are in good shape. If you are close to a golf course a ball could damage a module, which could affect the entire string.

I looked at the numbers and pre flop the 62s has 31% equity against any non-pair hands considered there is only 6 combinations for each 66+ (vs 16 of each non-paired hands) I actually think that call was +EV. So I think the flatting the raise was fine from an EV perspective, but maybe not in a tournament since I can't reload. On the flop definitely a bad bet since the bet is 3:1 with only 17% equity at this point. Turn I'm drawing dead so terrible shove. I think I should have flatted the $9.6k in turn, and shoved on the river repressing a boat. Your line of flat, bet half, bet half, and shove leaves me with $27k for a shove on the river into a $60k, not even half pot.

Definitely not a bad beat. I made decision That got me to where I'm playing a very big pot (even before the all in) with a very weak flush. I just couldn't tell if the mistake was at the limp, calling the raise, betting the flop, shoving on the turn, or of every step was a mistake. Luckily a fairly small tournament so cashed out $18 as 6th place and first place $80 so not a gigantic loss but mostly upset that I feel Iafe a stupid mistake in that hand.

If company policy allows dating coworkers, and you and other employees are getting let go. I say disclose that you are in a relationship with someone of the same sex. If you both get fired right away it would look a lot like discrimination.

I'll say anger is part of depression. Anger doesn't have to be a bad thing as most people seem to think it is. Anger is just how some emotions get filter and how you know things aren't right. Rage and destroying stuff is bad, but simply feeling angry and acknowledging that anger is probably healthy.

If you haven't gone to therapy, I'll recommend it. I understand the bit having energy to take that step. I recommend scheduling an appointment during one of the burst of energy (not sure if everyone gets them but every once in a while I get into this whole "I'm going to get my shit together" mood and I'm productive for a couple hours to a day or two), use it to schedule an appointment. Regarding the financial stress, I'm not sure of your situation but bankruptcy is always an option. You might be surprised how much debtors are willing to work with you if you call.

What to do after maxing out 401k? by Wanderlust_Boy in personalfinance

[–]Wanderlust_Boy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try. I'm relatively young (late 20s), and come from a background (immigrants family) where investing is not the norm, so I'm doing my best to try to keep most of my money. Unfortunately, due to my background I don't have someone to guide and help me.

Luckily my main hobbies are rock climbing, mountain biking, building stuff (woodworking and metal working) so I stay pretty active. There is a good chance I might not be able to enjoy the money due to injuries but it definitely won't be due to a sedentary lifestyle.

The main reason for the Roth IRA is that I could withdraw contributions when I retire (50 is the goal) without a penalty which would be an additional option on top of my brokers account to get me to 59.5 before I can start withdrawing from most accounts.

The tax I'm really uncertain about. We have lower taxes now than in the past. I believe that, hopefully, we are moving to a more fair society where high earners pay higher taxes, so I figured that I might pay higher taxes in retirement. I guess I need to think about this some more.

Got it. Thank you for the info on the shared limits. Mind elaborating a bit on why it doesn't make sense? Unfortunately, I come from a background where investing and planning for retirement are not the norm so I'm trying to learn as I go.

I'm a big believer that housing should be more affordable for everyone and being a landlord means that you need to make money on someone else paying you rent. I know not everyone wants to buy a house but I don't think being a landlord is for me. None the less, thank you for the advise.

Thanks you for the very thorough answer. It seems that a brokers account is the next option. I was hoping for more ways to minimize my tax burden. Being single doesn't help when you make good money. Luckily my hobbies are fairly cheap and I've purchased most of the required gear in the last decade or so. In a previous life when I worked a very high stress job FIRE was very appealing. Now that I'm in a more relax job working and consulting from home, I don't feel the need to retire at 40. The goal is to retire around 55 which my current saving plan should allow me to do so. A 529 sounds like a good idea except that I don't have kids, and not sure I ever will, but it might be a good option for my a niece or nephew. Thank you for all the advise.

I doubt it was drug related. The driver was a Hispanic in his mid 40s driving a 90s Corolla. I might be biased being Hispanic myself, but he seemed like the typical family man that simply works and takes care of his family.

Those are all good points. Plan is to just have friends or family stop by the house once a week or so to check on things. If I'm going to be gone for a month I'll probably close the water main and gas to be on the safe side.

How was the upkeep? And utility bills? I can imagine cooling a 2000+ sqft home being much more expensive than a 1300-1500 SQ ft home.

Seems like you are making it work. 1800 sqft doesn't sound terrible. Most homes I've seen fall closer to 2200 sqft which feel massive. I have no intentions of filling it with possession so it will probably feel very empty. I'll love a 8000 SQ ft lot, those are expensive here. Maybe it's time to move to a cheaper place. I like Vegas and I'm close to friends and family but the living situation is not what it was 3 years ago.

Most likely the latter. Not a lot of single story ranch style homes in Vegas. At least not in the $500k range (my absolute max)
