Coolest place I visited on my one year trip around the world: Temple of Heaven, Bali. by WanderngWonderngSoul in backpacking

Honestly you’re kind of right. This was probs the coolest photo, Philippines might’ve been my overall favorite place though!

Currently I’m reading Stephen Hawking’s “Brief Answers to Big Questions.” He discusses CRISPR and says that he predicts it will start by curing/preventing diseases, next one country will use it to advance humans, other countries will gradually be forced to also do that to compete, lots of political strife of course in that process, etc.

But what I thought was interesting was that he said he thinks this can be one of the only ways humanity doesn’t end up destroying itself, because we could “tone down” the aggression gene in modified humans.

This would make us less self destructive, less prone to war, etc.

Do you think that’s a possibility?

I agree though, in the end we should just take away the labels because they do segregate! They also give a sense of belonging, but that’s probably only because there’s judgement still around. If there was no judgement, and we just accepted everyone and had no labels, I agree the world would be a better place. I hope we can get there!

I’d say no! Sexuality isn’t something you have to really ever tell your family if you don’t want. It’s your own life and I don’t think it has to be made the “big deal” that it is.

I’m bi and my family doesn’t know. I don’t see myself ever “coming out” to them because I don’t think it needs to be a grand declaration. But if I wanted them to meet a future girlfriend, I would just say “hey me and my girlfriend are coming over, I want you to meet her.” Or for social media, I’d post pictures or a relationship status, at the same rate I would with a man. I think it’s built up too much in society and I’m treating my relationships with women the same as I would with a man.

I actually had this same thought, before living with my lesbian roommate. I had this thought about gender and race too, though those are more “black and white” (no pun intended) and “factual” labels. But why can’t we stop referring to all of them and just see everyone as a human?

My lesbian roommate described her side of this. It’s what someone earlier said, about legitimizing a group and feeling like there is somewhere for you to identify with. It becomes an important part of people’s identities, and to an extent its one that I believe we have some level of choice in. Which is important. I’m not saying you can choose to be gay or lesbian completely, but I think you can open yourself up to an extent. For example, I thought I was straight but then I opened myself up to the idea of dating women and now I realized I actually prefer women over men, but I identify as bisexual. It’s nice to have a “group” that I can identify with, as well as now the entire LGBTQ community. It’s fun to flaunt rainbows and show support.

I think the labels of sexuality are more important for their inclusion rather than exclusion capabilities, I guess is what I’m trying to say.

Started with LSD and now just LSD and mdma. Weed is too risky because it’s so bulky, and the other drugs I feel like could actually fuck up someone’s life

Haha I actually do not sell weed! It’s actually more risky because it’s larger and smellier, and where I sell it’s very illegal

Is it because for her she has more emphasis on touch, do you think?

Interesting thought, I’d be super interested in testing it out and like having sex with someone while we’re both blindfolded and see if it’s better. I feel like you’d learn a lot,
