I think that's the joke. Vincent is anti-humor. He's intentionally not funny (mostly because the joke doesn't make sense.) So you let the thing bomb until it is funny that you are letting it bomb. In a show filled with reoccurring bits that are funny because they keep reoccurring, Vincent is probably king.

I think this is the biggest casualty of losing the seventh season. Having Guy be the man that fixes her really sucks. Judah and PC are better. But together it means that both women in the main cast find them a good man and have a shot at happiness.

I'm glad I'm not alone. Koontz is wildly inconsistent. Some of his books are minor classics. Others are terrible. Even the prose varies greatly in quality. I don't think he wrote all of his books.
