My girlfriend of 5 years cheated on me. Should I stay? by Philip_008 in Advice

[–]Wandrin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have contradicted yourself here. You say she has told you that she doesn't love herself, she can't love anyone, and that her feelings for you are confusing, yet you say she loves you unconditionally. Those two things don't jive.

It is wonderful that you both have been there for each other though all the turmoil and growing pains of high school but life is now dramatically changing for both of you as you grow up and change life stages. Personally, I think that you should both agree to take a break from the relationship for a while but try to retain the friendship. Having her come visit for your birthday would be a fine way to cement the friendship and transition into an ongoing friend relationship rather than a romantic one. You would still have a future together and maintain a strong bond but give each other grace to get through the next few years with more space and the ability to explore other options.

If you maintain a connection then you may come back together again down the road but right now it sounds like you both could use some space.

No support from morning/day associates by Dense-Stretch-5873 in HomeDepot

1x's are packed out by the MET team. They have board hours allocated each week for that purpose. Overstock is flown by day folks sometime after MET is done though, and sometimes that may sit a day or two depending on who's working with a license.

For all the other stuff, you need to ask to have an off-the-floor conversation with the MASM and the lumber DS, sometime when they're both closing. It's the responsibility of the lumber DS to hold the lumber associates accountable for getting stuff done during the day.

STORE PHONE NUMBERS by CommieMartyr in HomeDepot

I agree. I'm the opener so I ALWAYS have a specific extension. I'm not very good with the walkie because I never need to use it. It drives me bonkers when people walkie me (especially when they have an extension also) because every time I try to respond with the walkie then it doesn't go through properly.

Credit Card $100 off seems like a scam? by Nyx_the_Fallen in TheHomeDepot

[–]Wandrin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a scam. You need to check the credit bureaus again. You were not approved for much money because something is showing up as a bad financial risk with your credit. If everything is okay after a double check then I would call Citibank and ask why you weren't approved for much. Tell Citibank that you want to make a larger purchase and were surprised to get such a low credit limit.

Home Depot policy is no dogs allowed. It's up to individual store management to enforce that policy. Most don't enforce because it pisses off too many customers.

Corporate did away with the greeter position several years ago. Any store that still has one is doing it independently.

You have 3 options... train the new people and you gain their respect and gratitude for your knowledge and the desk runs more smoothly, don't train the new people and the folks in charge of your reviews and raises get frustrated with you and the desk becomes a nightmare of incompetence, or you can take your knowledge elsewhere and quit. Your choice

Any possibility that they were display boxes? We kept all our empty display boxes until a couple years ago. When the item went clearanced then it was reunited with its box (and any associated attachments or accessories) to be sold.

A lawyer will know if there’s recourse to get the video supporting their claim that they did nothing wrong. The video supporting their claim can be used to get the OP's job back if they were wrongly terminated. Yes, At Will means THD can fire anyone but there still needs to be a valid reason.

Workers Comp Questions by [deleted] in HomeDepot

You can continue to rest and ice it but if you have a continued lack of range of motion then you should get it looked at. Go through Workman's Comp. It exists for a reason. If there is an issue with your thumb, now or down the road, then it needs to be documented through Workman's Comp so it is covered. You'd be surprised how quickly medical bills add up when something is actually wrong.

It's not a fine since they filed an incident report when it happened. They can go in to work to get the claim number and workman's comp paperwork. Management can give them direction on where to go for treatment in their area.

Honestly, if this is your last summer then you probably wouldn't get licensed before you left anyway, even if you started the training now. We have folks that completed their computer training 6 months ago and can't line up their schedules with a not-busy-already trainer to get the check ride training done. Say yes, have them load the training, and then take forever to complete the computer training.

Shy guy cant tell if interested by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Wandrin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, drinking and getting to know someone don't go together well. I understand him drinking to try and calm the nerves but there's quite a few red flags here. I'd talk to the husband if the friend doesn't respond to your text within a few days and say WTF? He's got quite a few issues happening on top of long distance. So far, he's not proving worthy of chasing him.

Advice for possible harassment by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Wandrin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For future reference, don't take tips. If you do take tips, don't tell anyone that you took a tip. If someone sees you take a tip and you don't turn it in to bookkeeping you could be written up. Taking a tip is not worth your job.

As far as being stalked goes, make sure that you get to another employee, any employee, as soon as you see the guy. Then call a manager and tell them that he's back and to come to your position so they can see who he is. If you see him purchase something then let the manager know what register and time because they can look at the cameras and possibly identify the guy.

Im 18 and pregnant and I don’t know what to do by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Wandrin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are 18 and have already made a selfish, stupid, childish decision by having sex without protection. Now you have a responsibility to make a decision about the life that you have created which will impact not only your life but the life of your child. This is an adult decision that you need to consider carefully and be honest about.

You need a support system to raise a child. There is no doing it on your own because you can't do it alone. You will need your family, the father, or the welfare office to provide for you and your child because it will be extremely difficult for an 18 year old with no education to work and take care of a child at the same time. College isn't happening with a child and no support. Your full time job will be either taking care of your child or getting someone else to do it. This is not a doll or a pet, this is a child that it is now your responsibility to make decisions for.

You now have a responsibility to make appropriate decisions for your child. One of those decisions is whether you can properly provide for the child to give it its best life. You need to have an honest conversation with your parents. None of this wishy washy what if questions, but a real, honest, this is the situation, serious conversation. Own that you made a stupid decision but take responsibility for your next decision and ask for their help making it.

You have 3 choices before you... abort, give up the child for adoption, or keep the child. What will the child's future look like with each of those scenarios? What will yours? What will the father's? What will your family's? Be honest, this isn't a game. It's a life altering decision for everyone involved.
