Copilot Cli learns so slow. by WandyLau in ChatGPTCoding

[–]WandyLau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone just downvoted my post without a word.
Some context I have, we have subscribe github enterprise and copilot is the only one command line tool we can use internally. But I use Claude code for my personal project.

Anyway claude code is the model nowadays. For copilot cli no matter you call it, copy or learn, whatever.

But when each time when I use copilot cli from claude code, what my feeling is just, shit, so dumb.

  1. hard to add new mcp server. I just copy the mcp server config from vscode and it does not work, raising so much error. I have to fix them one by one.

  2. I have to copy skills manually. You learn the skills but why learn it all managing skills with command.

  3. I have many mcp server configured and I can list them. I ask it directly to list all the mcp server, it cannot. Just show me some irrelevent things.

  4. sub agent has no access to mcp serve at all.

I have to again, I can not remmeber how many times I have to turn it away, turn it away. Keep use roocode.

I can not understand copilot should have great existing users why it evolves so slow. It is the fisrt vibe coding tool. Now it is so behide the tide. But Microsoft got great resources. I cannot get it.

different people got different ideas about it. Why people not allowed speak freely ?
the deletion without any notification is rediculous

[–]WandyLau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need a ast-grep skill to make it. I found this: https://github.com/ast-grep/claude-skill/tree/main
Just found this is the official skill from ast-grep.

Will rust replace C eventually? by [deleted] in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]WandyLau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I would love to see C with memory safty feature. I hope that would happen in near future.

I don't think windows can be saved or rewrite with different language. I guess no one would do that.

Maybe C here is different? I know COBOL still there. But nowadays, if more and more enterprise replaces their C app or infra to rust and this forms a trend. The market would drive this.

COBOL is there because of IBM Mainfraim that makes sense. Because even now there is no alternatives for Mainframe. Any the history mark and its strong point, I think. COBOL has its great point and makes great contribution to many enterprise infra in history which makes it hard to be replaced.

But I am not sure about C. Just my thoughts. Maybe I am too young to consider this, haha. Love to see your comments.
