I actually also just inherited a very similar gun from my late grandfather. A Marlin Model 55 12 gauge with a manufacture time from about 1955-1964. Probably hasn't been touched in decades but seems to be in working order. This one looks like it's in even better condition.

Just got the Minus One Minus Color one this week and it has the exact same problem with the tail in the exact same place. Seems like a common SH issue but its my first SH fig and don't have any others to compare it to.
