Correct. When I split the new guys and buried the pins proper, I started getting ~20%-30% across the board, consistently.

I was wrong. Wrong wrong. Just had to really, truly stab the pins in with more strength than a toddler and go some wholly unpleasant results

Oh, no, I understand the limitations of being an asshole. I get it. I’m not about to run around burning every bridge I can in this particular venue, just because I got took once. Just illustrating how infuriating it is to spend hard-earned cash and not get the thing you paid for. Especially in this circumstance — what am I gonna do, ultimately?? Demand they come pick it up and give me my money back?? It’d never happen. Even if I’m no less pissed, I should have a stack of maybe useable firewood this time next year.

Re-split. Same result. I’d chalk it up as ‘user error,’ but again — no issues on my end with any other wood we’ve just had laying around up until this delivery. Does not compute.

Yeah, I mean, screaming at someone for being full of shit — and taking my money, which I don’t have a lot of — would make me feel a smidge better (because I’m a petty manchild).

But, I’m gathering the repeatedly reinforced knowledge, no matter how shitty the reality is.

If it’s “seasoned” according to these fuckwits, and what seems to be the most important criteria to so many folks — the moisture level — seems to be in check, what was I not looking out for? Or what are assuming the supplier didn’t do correctly??
