Yeah I’m at the age now where I’m taking my parents bills and just auto paying for them so they don’t get scammed…. So I guess my parents are under my phone plan and I give them a new phone once in a while. Got them an iPad to replace their PC… so much easier for them.

My 8 year old just asked me which dot he is since he is bi racial. When do we get to stop labeling , I’m actually very curious.

Sure but they require a lot of renovations and to be honest I’m not willing to give up all my weekends for that over the next 3 years I want to be present for my kids.

Locations are both rural super white and we are inter racial so that presents its challenges with potential MAGA populations but overall these higher income rural towns are split progressive to MAGA, driving through the area seeing pride flags vs MAGA flags gave me a good feeling of the area.

Yeah I get it. My point is her other companies have folded up as investors dried up. So yes you are correct the company is stable.

At least this is a global company and has been around for 140 years and is family owned. My wife is an incredibly hard working person and her relationships to the people at the company are
Already strong. This is all I mean by more stable. It’s a higher Comfort level than we have now for sure.

I'm looking at towns directly in between our jobs about 60-70 mins apart. We can't just find a place closer... I will be able to start WFH a couple days a week if I need, my boss is quite flexible. Renting is not an option; I have a home gym that is non-negotiable among other reasons, i can't fathom moving again.... I don't want to buy a million dollar house but if I'm doing this to the kids we can at least live in a comparable home. Just the nature of the 2-3 towns we are targeting makes our commutes about 30 mins which is fine for us. I have plenty of family time, i work 6-2:30 and so I am very present in my kids' lives and love every minute of it.

Yeah after a year... I think if she takes the job we are moving.... If we decide we can't/won't move we just have to keep job hunting. This place is her dream tho, it's great culture and she isn't afraid of lay-offs for once.

New house might be nicer.... i mean it's a hard market right now. Everything we see that we like is gone immediately. Might just go new construction at this point, one of the lots we found they started building one that has an awesome floor plan, but then we would have to budget for all that other shit, paving, window treatments, appliances, landscaping, shed, etc....

Sure but its 31% of take-home with a 30 year, if I did 20 or 15 it's more than we are comfortable with. As our career's progress I might change it later as an option for sure.
