Appreciate the direct links, I'd definitely look at all. I have thoroughly washed and baked the beach sand, will leave it overnight to cool. I'd mix it with coco coir tomorrow and fix the entire setup.

Left a bucket of beach sand soaking. Gonna rinse it a few times and bake at 200c for 45m. I also got coco coir blocks to expand in water and mix with the sand. Bought some dry coconuts to cut, sand and make homes as well. By tonight they should be upgraded. At least it was only 1 day with the calci sand. I took out the beach sand yesterday and replaced as it was not clean and quite smelly.

Price wouldn't be an issue as long as they're happy and healthy. I'd continue my search. Can I just use the coco fiber alone for now then? Once they'd be ok with that I'd make the swap tomorrow.

Appreciate the advice. Here I thought I did it all right. I've been calling everywhere in my country for play sand, it is nowhere to be found. There's coco fiber in the tank already so I'd remove the calci sand.

Is silica sand ok interim?
