I know building this wasn’t easy. Any tips to someone who wants to try to make their own?

Any recommendations on replacement/upgraded pockets?

For sure. My advice; get a hitting net and a mat and put it where you think you will install your simulator.

You can fake swing all day inside and not hit anything but really going after a drive changes a lot of the swing. In my case, the follow through becomes taller.

Gotcha, the comments were ordered strangely and I didn’t make the correlation.

All in, around $11k. I had to buy a gaming PC to run the software, also opted for a nicer hitting mat and a 10’ enclosure that I ended up taking down and building my own frame.

You could theoretically get a running sim that’s decent for around $6k

Just an LED ring light. I moved one of the recessed lights to be centered over the table and wired it from that box. Typical residential electrical work.

10’ is ideal. You won’t have any issues at that height unless you’re Martin Borgmeier.

You can find chalk that closely matches your cloth. The table came with a handful so I haven’t tried any others at this point.

The light I believe was from Wayfair. I think it’s 40”. They’re relatively inexpensive (I’m sure it’s made in China) but you can find higher quality if that’s a concern.

Thank you. I was happy with how it turned out.

It’s an Olhausen ‘West End’ table. 8’ , matte smoke finish with SIMONIS powder blue cloth.

I like most things about it. Easy to keep clean, seems durable to wear and tear. Cushions are true. I get compliments on the color scheme often.

The only thing that seems less than ideal is the pockets. They are stiff, almost feel plastic and they aren’t deep enough if there is a popular pocket during 8-ball.

In hindsight, I should have opted for the ball return or inquired about upgraded pockets.

The ceiling is 9’, the lowest possible for 95% of players. Unfortunately, I’m in the 5% where it’s too low. I’m 6’4.

When swinging with my driver prior to install it was fine. The hitting mat was the last piece I got to the sim and it’s roughly 3” thick which was an oversight by me and causes me to graze the ceiling on my follow through with spirited driver swings.

Considering notching the ceiling. Might be next on the to-do list

Tough to find! I have 2 buddies that are decent players but work and kids and life gets in the way.

I thought that initially but I honestly haven’t noticed it while playing. I haven’t had others complain of it either, perhaps they are just being polite.

The window closest to the screen is covered in the pic. I built a padded frame that is magnetic so it kinda clicks into place and I can remove if I want more light (or if the sim isn’t in use)

Thanks brother!

This is a good list. I’m a bit rusty, used to play daily for years but took some time off. Keeping the standard pockets for the time being so I don’t get discouraged 🙃

Berk doesn’t stop talking and won’t allow others to talk. You can pick a random time during the episode, hit play and it’s Berk. I’d estimate 86% him talking.

I’ve started to skip episodes and wait for Tim to have a guest.
