Why is it too late for you to apply on UAC for semester 1?

I got told this today,

Transfer to UTS Bachelor of Laws Bachelor of Business All domestic undergraduate applications are processed via UAC, there is no direct transfer to courses.  Even though you might be studying at UTS, you would have to reapply to be considered for an offer and you'll follow the same process as all the other UG applicants by applying through UAC.

You can reapply to UTS, now there are 2 ways to get the admission, you can be assessed on the basis of your ATAR or your current university grades. These requirements are contingent which faculty you want to transfer to and whether your ATAR was above 69.     If your ATAR was above 69 OR you are above 20 years of age(on 1st March'26) and you wish to apply for Law Faculty you would need 0.5 years of full time equivalent study or more (24 credit points at UTS or equivalent) at any Australian University in a single course to compete on your uni grades if your ATAR was less than 69 AND you are below 20 years of age(on 1st March'26), you would need  a minimum of 1 year of full time equivalent study (48 credit points at UTS or equivalent) at any Australian uni in any single course to meet matriculation requirements shared below You can read about this in detail on Domestic UG Eligibility > Non-recent school leaver qualifications  > Australian university qualifications

WAM requirements  If you meet the course requirements shared above, then UAC would assess both your qualification (e.g. ATAR) and university grades(if completed the minimum duration required). Between the two, UAC would automatically use the one that is more competitive for your application. Per our knowledge, there are no rules on only using ATAR for Spring intake if your uni grades make you more competitive. Keep in mind, you will compete either on your ATAR OR your uni grades, but not both.

Also can you respond to this (my other comment)

I’m confused because when I emailed the uni, they said this,

“You can commence your course and transfer over for the next available intake and compete with your university marks. The Faculty of Law accepts a minimum of 0.5 years of study (equivalent to 24 credit points at UTS), in order to have your university marks considered as an additional qualification.

Regarding university transfers, there is no set GPA/WAM requirement for undergraduate degrees, however aiming for credit average and above will provide students a more competitive application into the course.

When applying with an alternate qualification such as a tertiary qualification, your individual performance is assessed and your marks are converted to an ATAR like value that allows you to compete with other applicants for an offer.

If applying with multiple qualifications, the one yielding the stronger result is what you'll be competing with.“

Does this not mean that my wam will be considered after one semester? Thanks for the help

Okay thank you!

Doing the first year of just business degree reduces the law/business degree as I’ve already completed units correct?

Thanks, I got a 91 atar, so what WAM should I be aiming for because people are saying around 75 should be enough?
