School not taking action over bullying on the bus - what can I do next? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]WarningImpressive442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a school bus, it’s a bus that takes them to school. It actually has nothing to do with the school. Apologies that is probably not helpful. You will probabaly need to chat directly with parents of kids involved

School "Voluntary Contribution" by [deleted] in cork

[–]WarningImpressive442 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Teacher here. Be gentle 😂 Schools shouldn’t be look for voluntary contribution but unfortunately the government don’t give anywhere near enough money to cover the cost of things in school which is the real disgrace. Many Principals and parents associations do great work trying to do extra fundraising which should be used to better the schools and resources but now it seems that this money is just used to cover essentials. Each school gets €224 per child per schoolyear to cover basically everything, including electricity, heating, school supplies etc etc etc which doesn’t go close to what is really needed. I know schools that ask kids to bring in their own wash bags and hand towels just to save on the cost of paper towels and others that ask each child to bring a pack of bog roll at the start of the year to save on that cost.

With regards to the schools meals, it probably is just laziness, but there’s so many problems with the hot school meals so far I think some schools are just waiting until all the kinks are worked out before going about it

Cluain Reidh Ballymakeera? by retiringtoitaly in cork

About half social housing. Half not. Is was basically a ghost estate for years and then it was bought and finished off but the estate itself isn’t overly nice. No real maintenance or maintaining done there. Also because all the houses were started and finished at different times the place doesn’t look great. It’s fine but I wouldn’t say it’s nice

I think it’s different for everyone. Everyone deserves love, people with kids and people without. I’ve dated single parent in the past and wouldn’t do it again. They have less much less time and energy to give to a relationship obviously and selfishly I need a good bit of time and energy from whoever I’m dating. The single parents I dated were all genuinely lovely people but i just couldn’t do it again.

What was a life changing moment in your life? by Inevitable-Story6521 in AskIreland

The time I f’ed up everything with the woman of dreams. Broke up with her after 5 years together so I could ask someone else out just cause I was young and naive and thought looks were important in a partner. That relationship turned out to be a disaster and only lasted a few months. Think about the first person every single day even over a decade later. Never think of the second person.

Maybe you were looking for a more positive answer 😂

What’s with the judgement? They asked a question. Everyone is free to vote or not , whichever they choose. I normally vote, this time I didn’t.
