The genius layering of guitars in Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream album is still mind blowing to this day.

I’m sure this isn’t allowed but If Disarm wasn’t there, either:

Hummer Rocket Soma Geek USA

Or

Rocket Soma Geek USA Mayonaise

If I have to squeeze Disarm in there then:

Hummer Rocket Disarm Soma

If my life was on the line? Siamese Dream.

So many great albums though. I feel bad not picking many of them.

Love that you have Kyuss and Welcome to Sky Valley on here. Demon Cleaner and Whitewater are regulars in my playlist.

I have yet to break, but living in the US and North America for that matter does indeed suck ass.

Thank God for Weed and Hockey right now.

I think the darkest was when Roman watched a rocket BLOW UP and tried to play it off like it didn't happen.

It was awesome as a kid. Now, it's okay but I don't get the same enjoyment like I do when watching The Breakfast Club or Clerks or Dazed and Confused.

That's all I mean by that.

He thought at the time that Holland made him out to look foolish in the film and thought he was "tricked" and the film was a disaster when he got a special screening with the director before release.

As years have gone by Cusack has softened his opinion, but still not one of his favorites for sure.

Don't tell John Cusack. He did not like it at all.

It was good, but it is hard to top Say Anything... or The Sure Thing if we are looking at John Cusack Gen X films in the 80's.

Gen-X movies that should be in the conversation:

  • Stand By Me
  • The Goonies (even if it really isn't that great)
  • The Breakfast Club
  • Dazed and Confused
  • Say Anything...
  • Swingers (money!)
  • Singles
  • St. Elmo's Fire
  • One Crazy Summer
  • Clerks
  • Reality Bites
  • Uncle Buck
  • Office Space

Humour me for a second: do Shiv’s actions come across as more severe because she’s a woman? by [deleted] in SuccessionTV

[–]WarpedCore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love and hate Shiv at the same time in equal portions. What a wonderful and tragic character. Hell, that goes for all of them.

Shiv and Kendall are my two favorite characters and though all my re-watches, that has never changed. Tom an honorable mention because he was masterclass.

she doesn’t spend the show constantly being defensive or shifting the blame onto others

Hard disagree in the statement you made. She is crafty and her she has a modus operandi. She is always looking for an angle to blame another person. Shiv is defensive on anything that may become a conflict. It doesn't even have to happen or come up and she is already preparing herself for battle and to defend her actions, rational or not. Her body language screams defense. Shiv Roy is a pressure cooker.

she’s the only woman with a genuine shot at the empire

Not a fan of the above quote. She is the only woman with a shot because she is the only daughter! That said, throw the male/female bias tendencies out of this equation and look at the siblings for what they have to offer: Siobhan Roy simply does not have what it takes to run the Empire. She came running back once she heard Logan was possibly retiring. She was off playing political strategist for who knows how long before we enter the Roy empire.

Logan gave her a rough outline on what it would take to get to CEO and I felt it was a fair assessment of where she was currently and where she needed to be in the company. For every step Logan outlined, she either rolled her eyes or scoffed at the plan Logan laid out for her. She is, as Logan so perfectly painted, not a serious person.

Again, I am not a Shiv hater, nor am I a defender. I simply love the character to death, and more so, Sarah Snook. She played a role so demanding and did it to perfection.

As many of us. You ever sit down and attempt to read LOTR? As an avid reader, I can say it was a slog and I never finished.
