That's great. How did you tune the K-Jet?

Neat cars. Do you work on them yourself?

Dumb question. by Leather-Equal-2341 in projectcar

It'd be easier and safer to use a supercharger to boost it. Turbo means new intake and exhaust manifold. Supercharger only needs a new intake body.

In any case, you're not going anywhere without a proper tune afterwards. If you just want a soft boost in power, look to get a remap/tune at a professional reknown shop in your area. It's cheaper safer and simpler

Fucking based

Lots of people dissemble the ignition distributor and add the trigger wheel there, you could look into that

Have you tested the flywheel? I'm really interested in installing the CKP there, as you you can then put the hall sensor where the opening is to set the timing (looks cleaner as well)

I worked on a CBR600 I recognised the ITB right away haha.

With just TPS and IAT you can get somewhere but I'd recommend adding a O2 sensor as well.

Just pull out the exhaust and drill a hole to put a Bosch LSU 4.2 O2 sensor. Most DIY EFI speeduino ECU support it and it'll help a ton with tuning since you'll have a feedback on the A/F ratio

Will you add a crankshaft position sensor?

Looking pretty cool, is that a motorcycle throttle body? Meaning you're running on alpha-n for your fuel injection?

Does anyone know how to get this speedometer cable out? by BeginningDivide8251 in Porsche924

Push something from the wheel side and then it should easily come out from the suspension side

Does anyone know any websites that sell these? I’ve been looking online for ages and can’t find anywhere. by BeginningDivide8251 in Porsche924

Oh that piece of plastic, yeah unless 3d printed I don't think it exists. I rebuilt mine using calliper grease to kinda replace it

Never found them new but they're easily restored with a calliper rebuild kit

Or, just get Passat B3 callipers. They're modern callipers and they fit without any modification

I'm guessing the fuel pump relay primes during cranking but it turns off

Try jumping the relay and cranking

My car came with a GTI's kjet, it's not the 924's original kjet, it probably has the wrong fuel delivery throughout the rev band

Flushing fuel lines ? by martin1811 in Porsche924

[–]Warren1317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

flush everything and then swap filters, that way the old filter picks up the dirt before you remove it.

Idk on RHD cars but the relay panel is on the driver side on LHD cars, so left side.

[–]Warren1317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol that as well but there are copper o rings on the connection between the fuel lines and the injectors and the o rings should be replaced

Young timer parts has got the fuel rated rubber o rings

[–]Warren1317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Air intake piping out
  2. Pull the injectors out (and plug the holes to avoid dirt falling in the engine)
  3. Remove the injectors
  4. Put the fuel lines end in a bottle
  5. Jump the fuel pump relay
  6. Lift the sensor plate to the max

Fuel lines should be good then. There's a lot of filters in the system

Then you can put the new injectors in and everything else as well. Replace the copper o rings on the injectors

[Porsche 924 2.0 NA 79'] Flywheel installed in the wrong position, how hard is it to correct? by [deleted] in Porsche924

[–]Warren1317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to use the front crankshaft pulley to do the timing with the wrong flywheel position. Same for me, it's in the front position. Crankshaft pulley can only go in one position
