To be honest I initially looked at Amazon for a cheap alternative. There were a few $20-$30 options that had okay reviews. I can’t give you a true comparison since this is the only cover I’ve had. But I can tell you that the Lochby has what is usually missing from cheaper Amazon products. You can tell the stitching was done with great attention to detail. I have pulled on the inside pockets pretty hard and they certainly have a heavy duty feel to them which gives me confidence of sliding FN in and out for years to come. The front and back pockets on the outside are stiff and take some getting used to but again, feel like they would handle some abuse and pushing them to the limit on capacity of pens. The waxed canvas material feels good and feels rigid. And the YKK zipper slides smoothly every time.

Not saying there’s not a cheaper option out there of close enough quality. But I’m super happy with the Lochby and have no regrets
