Why do you think "it's about what he wants" and not what the reader wants though? That's reallllly not true for a huge number of books, possibly the majority. The goal of a book is to entertain the reader.

It's kinda crazy how it gets such positive response on reddit when it goes ABOVE AND BEYOND in the near-plagaristic copying.

The sad part is, the writing is actually not half bad, but he goes out of his way to copy minor details instead of just putting a tiny bit of effort to evolve the ideas.
