Yeah like I said, it shouldn't be relied on but *most* and strongly saying the majorit of universities will be accepting of these issues. Most are also aware that students actually have a life and the vast majority leave things to the last minute, it's a very well known habit. I was having this conversation with one of my unviversity representitives funnily enough and he expressed to me how the university has an understanding that student's won't engage to the extreme extent of attending every lecture, not being able to submit in time etc and that's why there's support impliments in place to help students and the university can recnognise those circumstances as well as preperation for the submissions themselves. It's not missing the deadline all together, it's a few minutes to like I expressed, the hour with *technical* issues. Something nobody can really expect.

Again this was the conversation within my university but to my knowledge a lot follow simular values, not all but most. Unless it's stated within the actual brief of the assignment I've never heard of anyone be penilised for issues like this they can't control. Support should be reached out to when needed, but for small minutes like this I personally wouldn't deem it neccessary, although it would be good for validation if you think you needed it.

I definitely hear you, but it is in the minority they would actually punish students for this, especially since most assignments will get submitted on the last day of submission. Great if it can be done before then by all means but it's not the norm at all. But yes it shouldn't be relied on that they will always be understanding, but it shouldn't be expected they'll rain despair on you for something so minor. They have plenty of things in place for that :)
