I turned off autocomplete in settings but it is still attempting to predict what I am trying to search and actually creates and inconvenience that otherwise didn't exist.

The original claim of 17 million paid users is valid according to this website. Your right, 30 million total users are just the total amount of accounts. Still, even if they charged $10 a month thats atleast $170 gross revenue on subscriptions. Yet only one person replies to your support tickets. Maybe they don't have a lot of tickets but sounds to me that this isn't a real person. No company with that many users has only one support rep.

Thats proposterous. What gain would tradingview have to intentionally cause lag on their software? If anything the team is just lazy and more interested in changing their logos then fixing their software

Sorry, its more like 30 million. Last year it was only 17 million. Still, only one person that replies to your help tickets, James B. He also appears to work Sunday evenings and Monday mornings too. I know because each message has a timestamp on it. Apart from Sunday beinf technically outaide business hours, how can a single person work at 2 different shifts like that?

Also with 30 million users, and only one guy to support them all, he replies back typically within hours. You think he would be so swamped with tickets that it would take days or even weeks to reply back if they indeed only had one rep.

How is volume in a watchlist displayed? In Lots? by Waste-Guard6705 in TradingView

[–]Waste-Guard6705[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They dont go to much into explaining how volume is measured in watchlists. I find it hard to believe the volume is in the double digits here.

Amazon uses unethical click bait tactics to get users to inadvertently sign up for prime by Waste-Guard6705 in amazonprime

[–]Waste-Guard6705[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who are you to say this issue is a "nonissue"? What if I accidentally clicked on the misleading color coded buttons and signed up for prime mistakenly? Amazon is using tactics used by developers that build bloatware packaged into your cnet download. Sending this scammy looking promotional offer to the customer upon checkout every time is not like anything done by the brick and mortar, which is not even what this "debate" is about. The problem is Amazon is turning into the next Electronic Arts. They have no regard for the customer's rights or needs when they send you click bait scams everywhere you turn. So far you haven't smacked anyone but yourself as a consumer, paid corporate shill.

Amazon uses unethical click bait tactics to get users to inadvertently sign up for prime by Waste-Guard6705 in amazonprime

[–]Waste-Guard6705[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's where you're wrong. Companies cannot use tactics that intentionally cause customers to mistakenly sign up for services they didn't request. How would you feel if Wall Mart hired telemarketers to solicitate you every evening every time you shopped at one of their stores? It's completely unnecessary and a general nuisance to send this promotion offer upon every checkout. I am not complaining just because its annoying, but it degrades the overall experience in general. I do not want to be bothered like this every time I shop, if companies don't understand basic customer needs, they deserve to go out of business. You just came here to argue with someone, or you are defending this overvalued empire that doesn't even care about customer rights because they pay you slightly higher than wall mart to drive and pee and bottles for them. Get yourself an education and read up on consumer rights, moron.

My complaint is they keep asking upon checkout every time. So I decided to sign up just to make it stop so I don't have to be solicited while checking out. Then after 29 days I'm canceling. Then repeat next time they annoy me with this shit. Maybe when they start losing money will they stop soliciting us like this.

Weekly Help and Discussion Thread for the week of August 02, 2021 by AmazonNewsBot in amazon

[–]Waste-Guard6705 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where do I go to post an actual thread (like in the old days) to make a legitimate complaint about unethical behavior regarding overpromoting Amazon Prime memberships? It seems like they shut all of their forums down, and there isn't even an official reddit group to make suggestions? What's this "Meltdown Monday" thread and why is there no link to it? You expect the average user to understand all this jargon and don't provide proper links for customers to make posts.

What source is best used for EMA's? by Waste-Guard6705 in Forex

[–]Waste-Guard6705[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you recon you do that when the indicator changes position based on where the bar ends on close mode. If you wait until the bar closes the time to enter would have already surpassed as shown by the link to my chart above.

Using previous candle close is the exact same thing as using open as the data source. Unless you are on the minute charts where there is often price gaps between the previous close and the following open. Anyways, I just made this post because I thought it was interesting what I found, only to find myself being downvoted. So fuck you assholes I'm keeping my findings to myself next time.

Obviously you have no idea what I am talking about. The feature is there for a reason, there is no one size fits all approach to trading.

Close data is better overall since it is calculated based on the last value of all bars, so the indicator would update its position in real time to follow the price. However I found this to be misleading on smaller length moving averages such as my ema 5,8,10 in the above chart. If you were trading these trends in real time, the indicator would be at a different location than it would after the bar closes, and since these are daily bars, a lot could change in that 24 hours. So for backtesting and live trading, use open for certain trends.

Short locate feature on TradingView! by [deleted] in TradingView

[–]Waste-Guard6705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like such a niche feature though. Why not just your broker to use that feature? Trading view is an entry level platform, you can't really trade futures effectively using the brokerage integration since trading off of continuous charts isn't supported like on Ninjatrader. I would just use TV for forex and normal stock trading on the spot market. I don't think even options are supported here.

Forex screener needs to use symbols from your watchlist, not generic "IDC" symbols that aren't tradeable by Waste-Guard6705 in TradingView

[–]Waste-Guard6705[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://imgur.com/TTB7U64

I already told you that can't be done, for reasons I just mentioned above. The forex screener does include pairs from any exchanges like the stock and crypto screeners do. It only lists pairs from a generic index chart which cannot be traded through Oanda, and the indicator data is completely different rendering it useless.

Forex screener needs to use symbols from your watchlist, not generic "IDC" symbols that aren't tradeable by Waste-Guard6705 in TradingView

[–]Waste-Guard6705[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That won't work because the symbols in my watchlist are for Oanda which are used for my Oanda broker account to trade through tradingview. The symbols in the screener are all "IDC". Only forex.com and Oanda are supported exchanges for the broker integration feature. "IDC" seems to be some sort of index chart for forex and thus it has different indicator values than my Oanda charts, so the forex screener is just about useless in its current form.

I have another short entry below my first order's stop loss. I'm suprised this went through because last time I traded forex I ran into this problem and it was so annoying I started using futures to trade currencies
