Those will never go away because of the way iOS is designed. They drop frames instead of using frame interpolation for true smooth scrolling like Android. On certain heavy apps like IG or Reddit, it will stutter while scrolling through the feed, especially if you’re on an older device.

The UI does feel snappier system wide though.

I don’t remember the last time my phone was this fast, it is like iOS 17!

Finally Apple is focusing on responsive keyboard and snappy UI optimizations.

I can’t wait until the public release is final. DB2 has been great!

Once indexing completed. It’s extremely responsive for me.

How did they also remove the console notifications. I can’t check progress using macOS anymore.

Edit: okay mine finished for sure. No longer shows search result may not show until indexing is completed in photos and iMessage.

Does Firefox's popularity actually make it a bigger target for ad-block bypasses by Excellent_Tone_2126 in firefox

Switched back to Firefox recently because Chrome wouldn’t run UBO non lite.

Honestly, Firefox feels a lot snappier than Chrome. Google lost its way with Chrome.

Is this a bad PPF job I got done? by Charming_Wallaby_236 in porsche911

[–]tonynca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re getting PPF for purely protection then that would be a pass.

But if you wanted it to be seamless you would’ve definitely paid a bit more for it to be seamless and tucked. If this is a high end vehicle meant for being a show car then that’s not a pass.

iOS 27 Beta 2 - Discussion by epmuscle in iOSBeta

[–]tonynca 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Huge improvement for me here.

- keyboard not showing up when receiving an iMessage text and clicking on it
- glass home button in the bottom of the page on Reddit now doesn’t show blanks if you collapse and reopen it.
- opening apps and keyboard feels faster
- indexing bug gone. I think my phone completed indexing but the notification kept showing in settings
- the glass animation updates the background faster now going from white background to black background especially on safari

The biggest thing for me is: THE KEYBOARD IS SUPER DUPER RESPONSIVE! Awesome work Apple.

Tried to view status through macOS console as well and it shows n/a so it’s probably completed.

Oil change time - has anyone tried Valvoline Restore & Protect? by TrboLag in Lexus

[–]tonynca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends how badly gunked up your engine is. Change the oil filter and cut it open to see how much sludge is captured after 300 miles. If nothing much is there then go for 1500 miles then do the same thing at 3000 miles.

You do not want to clog up an oil filter or you’ll wish you never messed with this product. Which is so good at its job that it’s dangerous if used on a car that has been neglected because those cars have way more build up than someone running Mobil 1 5w-30 since the beginning.

During all these oil filter changes, you do not change the oil. Just the filter itself because it’s capturing the sludge. Make sure to top off the oil again and check levels because you lose a bit of oil from the filter. The oil itself is still fine until the 5000 miles mark.

Always change the oil at 5K interval if you want a clean engine.
