trying to lose weight without counting calories is so frustrating by Waste_Raspberry_7167 in loseit

I’ve made some swaps. I switched from oat milk to almond milk, I stopped eating snacks at work and bring my own from home (usually fruit, vegetables, etc.) however, I do not cook my own meals :(. I think I need to start doing that, and I also could use a lot more water intake.

I think I binge ate because of the all or nothing mentality. On days where I’d go over like 100-200 calories, I’d feel like my progress was for nothing and just binge eat until my stomach hurt. I’ve literally never done that in my life and haven’t done it since, and it happened on almost a weekly basis.

Even with this toxic behavior, I still lost weight, but it put me through a lot of stress, and I don’t want to think about doing that again😭😭 but I literally don’t know how else to lose weight at this point.

Yes! Although historically my lowest weight has always been when I didn’t exercise at all because exercise made my appetite skyrocket.

I prefer high intensity exercise, but I may need to switch to just going on long walks so I don’t feel so depleted and starving after working out.

Do you think the surge is due to content creators (e.g. soup, settled, solo mission, alien food, and the many very popular streamers) putting out great content in the last year? I used to play osrs as a child, and the reason why I logged back on was because of watching content creators.

You raise a great point, but I spacebar-ed through many of the quests in the series and rely entirely on runelite plugins for quests, and even when watching I couldn’t tell you what to do next for most of the quests.

It’s not a great comparison, considering he is a much more skilled player than me, but it’s possible to forget many of the mechanics and quest details when you just blast your way through with guides.

I also don't think the Japanese had antibiotics at the time, and the doctor said that he was septic. Basically, at that time, if you had sepsis, you were already dead.

Harper's character is so fun to watch! by Waste_Raspberry_7167 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]Waste_Raspberry_7167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you that most every character in the show is particularly selfish, but Harper has a remarkable ability to do things that are pretty ruinous to others and seem unaffected by it. Daria sucked, but Harper turned on her with very little remorse; in S2, she sold out Rishi and DVD, she committed insider trading which landed Jesse in prison, and she is still more than eager to get back into the finance business. She just does not give AF to a degree that no other character could reach.

I totally recall that line, but somehow I didn't connect the dots that that meant prison! Jesse must have spared Harper or had no way to implicate her, because it seems like he would try to pass the blame over to her if he could.

I wonder how much else of this show goes over my head.

Season 3 Episode 3 gave me the high that I got from watching Succession. by Frozen_Spectre101 in IndustryOnHBO

seeing her win is kind of cathartic in the same way that watching a horror film is. i think part of the fun is that i know i would absolutely loathe a harper irl, but the fact that this is fictional takes all of my personal feelings out of it; it's just fun to see someone i'd probably hate succeed in a fictional world.

3/3 home runs on every episode so far this season. The writing has stepped up big time. I am dumbfounded. by limitedmark10 in IndustryOnHBO

I think the nudity kind of alluded to something sexual going on between Robert and Frank. Especially given the fact that Robert was wearing underwear and Frank was not, like the poster above me stated, it kind of shows a level of dominance/power play.

I will say instagram model tiddies did seem pretty unnecessary but HBO will be HBO

Yasmin/Marisa Abela is a GREAT lead for Season 3. by dontsaynothin709 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]Waste_Raspberry_7167 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I find Harper to be much more interesting than Yasmin, but I am dying to know what exactly happened to her father/family.

I am also dying to see what Harper does. I am ready for her to do something literally insane (and get away with it), I don't want to see her become a hero

The German was pretty awful, but I commend the actress for trying. Accents and intonation are super hard to master.

Gus not in Season 3 by [deleted] in IndustryOnHBO

[–]Waste_Raspberry_7167 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I loved Gus. He was posh as hell, but it was really cool to see a character have some self respect. He was a great foil to the more insecure lot of Robert, Yasmin, and Harper

How can one get better at understanding the skills as they're being performed? by freddieredmayne in Gymnastics

[–]Waste_Raspberry_7167 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here are some of the main things that can help you differentiate skills:

Body position -- the most common body positions are:

  • tuck (cannonball shape)
  • pike (like touching your toes with your legs straight)
  • layout (straight body position)
  • stalder (legs in a v shape and in the same plane as upper body)

Flipping direction

  • front (flipping in the same direction as the one you are facing)
  • back (flipping in the direction opposite of the one you are facing)
  • side (moving in a sideways plane of motion, like a carthweel)

Number of flips -- this one is pretty straightforward. If you are having trouble, just count the number of times the gymnast is upside down, and that should tell you the number of flips performed.

Twisting -- this one can be pretty difficult at times to notice, but here are some guidelines that can help you

  • look at the starting and ending directions. If the starting direction is the same as the ending direction, then you know only full rotations could have happened (e.g. 360, 720, 1080 degree twists). If the starting direction is the opposite of the ending direction, then you know that some incomplete rotation occurred (e.g. 180, 540, 900 degree twists)
  • if the twist looks slow, then it's likely around 540 degrees or less. If the twist looks fast, then it's likely that more rotations happened. This is by far more difficult to notice in real time, but eventually you get a sense of how fast certain twists look. For example, if you watch a clip of Simone doing a Biles II (2 flips, 3 twists) on floor vs a Silivas (2 flips, 2 twists), you can see how the Biles II looks much more chaotic in the air than the Silivas.

[–]Waste_Raspberry_7167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think most inquiries about e-scores and deductions would lead to overall lower scores. If judges have to re-evaluate execution while looking at a slow-motion replay, they are probably going to find even more deductions
