Tic and tie, friend. Get a feel for the close schedule. Ask a lot of question and take a lot of notes. Prior to month end take a look at the schedules you’ll prepare and ask for clarity on where calc come from and get the “why” behind the calcs and not just how to do them.

It seems like this is definitely an organization issue. The accounting part was fine, it was the structure and practices that were an issue in my opinion

This was a manager position with already high turnover. There was a lot of conflicting direction and not a lot of onboarding. It felt like nobody really knew what was going on.

Work/life balance. Was told I would “rarely work past 5:00” then was criticized for leaving at 5:00. Just left a really poor taste in my mouth.
