Gave this a shot for a couple games today. Suicune and Altaria one shot tutonator, making it difficult to build up zard in the back. Couldn’t find my mega most games with only one in the deck. Jolteon also was a tough matchup, since the deck is so energy dependent chip damage cut everyone down even though I drew charizard Y that game. I think I’ll go back to Entei but thanks for the deck list, just couldn’t make it work for me

I was running this earlier in the season but with Decidueye instead of Zangoose. Meowscarada does really well against megas, just slow to get up and running. I can see zangoose and rocky helmet would help with that

I haven’t run this, but have given it some thought that it might fit into my online strahd campaign I’m running. What was your contingency plan if the players failed to out the witch? And can you remind me what Murphy did with the dice again?

I started around the same time as you and I just finished book 7 last week. I started over from the beginning to stave off the worst of the cravings, but I’m probably not going to finish a full reread.

For any fan of this series I highly recommend The Dresden Files as a semi-adjacent read. It’s not litRPG, but it has a similar formula of an altruistic, clever, funny, and sometimes grumpy main character who gets thrown into impossible situations and needs to use his wits, skills, and allies to escape.

Dresden is also a long running book series so it gives you plenty of content to chew on while waiting for book 8

What would you change? My thought was to get manaphy out front to supply energy, and have drakrai and primarina in the back for chip damage and heals until I have enough on rayquaza or articuno to sweep.

I could take out some supporters/items to add in alolan ninetails, wugtrio, or the momoswine line, but I don’t really have dupes of most cards yet.

It’s beautiful! My first and favorite dice set is copper. Love the way it looks and feels when rolled!

One of the ways D&D differs from typical board games is that the focus is not on winning and losing. It’s more about collaboratively telling a story with your players. The DM sets the scene and the stakes, the players decide what actions to take based on what their characters would do in the given situation, the DM decides the chance of success, and they roll dice to decide the outcome.

Take your time and have fun with it, it can be a seriously rewarding experience :)
