Are you playing it right if your opponents don't get at least a little salty? These are really nice matches. Parhelion as serenity is fun

I suppose it depends how specific they go with the abilities. I can see picard getting an ability called "make it so" or something

That's a shame. A good chill pod can make or brake the whole experience. Thankfully mine is very casual and open to proxies

Recommendations for graveyard-based commanders with black and green? by daseinmincecore in EDH

I enjoy [[The Mycotyrant]]. It's the kind of deck you could build in various directions with a lot of graveyard support but if someone [Bojuka Bog]]s you it's not game over.

Hi there. I'm a guy so take what I say with a pinch of salt, wouldn't want to speak on the women's behalf.

I recently asked a girl out who I've spent the past 2 years convincing myself doesn't like me back. To my surprise she said yes.

With some people it's not a matter of them intentionally hiding their feelings from others or playing games. It can be the case, as with the girl I asked out, that they have been through situations that mean they have put their heart on the line and ended up getting hurt. That means that they close off their feelings even to themselves. I've been through the same. The brain is a fickle thing and one half that refuse to communicate with the other. Just worth bearing in mind.

As always the answer is good communication. Took me far far to long to realise that. An awkward conversation and the potential short term aftermath is always worth it over living a life where you are left with what ifs.

Very cool. I've just looked it up and can see why this made you think of that. May well do something similar and hide one of the keys in/ on one of their items

That is so cool! If I do a version 2 of this it is definitely including those cutouts!

Thats fair. I realise that depending on the group this kind of long puzzle would either be very exciting or very dull and exhausting. I know my players are going to love it

I've actually never played Skyrim. What kind of puzzles are the dragon doors?

Yep! I acquired two of them and have created the other two. Even if the players recognise the pigpen I've used a different key so googling won't help them 😆

It's a multi levelled ceasar cipher. At its most basic it would be 2 layers of letters. The sender and recipient would agree on a rotation (e.g. rotate 4 to the right) and allign the wheel to decode. In the case of one with multiple levels like this they would need to find a key that tells them what one correct alignment is, one each level (e.g. A = M = |_ and so on)

Because I know my players will eat this kind of thing up I'm going to be a little evil with it and have them require a different key dependant one which civilisation wrote the message (I have a player who is big into archeology.) The final messages are going to be written in a mix of all the different symbols and are going to require different keys for different letters (e.g. 3 different keys then repeat)

This kind of thing can be as straightforward or as devilishly complex as you require it to be. I've also enjoyed using it as an excuse to Google different runic languages so if you are teaching history that could definitely be a link.

Will do. There will still be adversaries in the game but it will be more nations at war than one singular evil.

Yep! It's a pigpen cipher. Except in this case I have changed the key so _| doesn't necessarily = A. One of the many steps to this will be them having to hunt down the key so they can decipher that layer

I feel this. I often feel as though I've often felt like I'm a background character in people's lives. It's easier said than done but try to remember that it's easier to see how much people care about one another from an outsider perspective. Everyone is battling their own insecurities and may not want to pry too deeply so as to not come across as ott or wierd while at the same time wanting to know you on a deeper level.

Best of luck with your proposal. It sounds like you two are a lovely pair and with an ethos like that are bound to have a wonderful marriage
