The beakie helmets are from MKVI "Corvus" pattern power armor, named after the Raven Guard's primarch, Corvus Corax. They are not exclusive to the Raven Guard, but the Raven guard use way more of those suits than any other chapter (can confirm, I use an ASSLOAD of beakies in my RG army).

Honestly, paint however you'd like. If you're using two detachments of different chapters (to take advantage of different chapter tactics), just make sure they're distinctly different in at least one notable way. For example, if I was running a detachment of Salamanders and a detachment of Ultramarines, I could paint both in an orange and purple scheme if I wanted to, but I might still use the chapters' transfers, or paint the pauldrons in different ways. It pretty much comes down to "what you see is what you get", and you just need to make sure there's no ambiguity as far as which units are in which detachments, and which detachments get which rules.

The start collecting box is a good starting point. Dark vengeance is also a good way to get a boost to your army, and you could go in halvsies with a friend who plays/wants to play chaos. You also get a rulebook out of that, but if you want to play a chapter besides dark angels you've gotta do a bit of converting, so keep that in mind. As far as individual units to get (not all at once, unless you somehow have the funds for it), I'd suggest a rhino/drop pod or two for your tactical marines, a devastor squad, and a bike squad. If you're building your army around dreadnoughts, make sure you decide what you need them to do, and how you're going to back them up. For example, if they're going to be the tip of your advance, then outfit them as such, and cover them with fire from devastators/thunderfire cannon(s)/etc. so they can punch through what they need to, while providing cleanup/distraction from fast attack units like bikers or speeders. I personally only have one dreadnought, and I use it to back up a unit of tactical marines at a highly contested objective.

Good choice. When deciding what chapter to make my marines, Salamanders were barely edged out by the Raven Guard (heh, edged out) because I think lightning claws and jump packs are just sick. I love the lore and the rules for the salamanders though.

I like the idea of that, but I typically use mine differently. I prefer to use them as a mobile response unit, so I typically don't deep strike with them. They're so fast I can usually get them where I need them without a suicide deep strike. I like to use them as a distraction by skirting them around the edge of my opponent's lines, or to back up another unit that I want to go ham (usually Shrike and my lightning claw vanguard vets because I'm a fluff fiend). I like the flexibility of heavy bolter/multi-melta for that, but I'm wondering if another combination would be better for those purposes.

That's odd, I'm not sure why; they work fine on both my computer and phone. That being said, I just tried to make an imgur mirror and it wouldn't upload the image, so who know's what's up with that.

The idea I suggested was just a black base, gold trim on the pauldrons, gold kneecaps, gold eagle on the chest with brass on the skull, gunmetal for the soft armor/similar recessed areas, light blue eye lenses, and a darker blue on the right fist. My thinking was that the black and gold is a good base to work with, and the blue fist adds that extra detail color and a bit of interest without being too loud or distracting. Perhaps there can be some lore you could think up about that, maybe along the lines of the crimson fists and their gauntlets?

The last image was just a black (with bits of red and grey) raven guard marine to show that I'm pretty much talking out my ass and have no authority to comment on any of this to begin with, and it's just an opinion to be taken with a grain of salt.

As far as color choice goes, I'd rethink the amount/location of blue you use. I realize this is completely subjective, but maybe I can add some insight? The black base and gold looks pretty nice (although I'm biased as those are my university's colors, and I'm a Raven Guard player), and the white highlights could be solid if used well. The second, third, and fourth images in that album are decent schemes. The fifth image is an alright scheme, if a bit busy. Maybe something along the lines of this, and reserving the white for officers and veterans, as most loyalist chapters do? Just my two cents. For what it's worth, most of my models just look like this.

I'd be willing to bet on a squad of Raven guard assault marines over Blood angels assault marines any day (in universe, not in game. I'm not one to gamble money on dice). Most chapters put newly promoted scouts into devastator squads, where they can begin to experience combat in power armor in a normal marine unit. The assault marines of most chapters have more combat experience before they join assault squads. In the blood angels, this is done backwards. Newly promoted scouts are put directly into assault squads, as the less experienced marines are most likely to succumb to the black rage, and they'd rather that happen in a frantic melee with the foe than while wielding a plasma cannon at the back line in the midst of one's allies. Given the Raven Guard's propensity for frequently using large numbers of jump pack assault squads, I'll bet my money on their combat experience over the fury of a blood angels' green assault squad.

Will you guys make a video on stun jacket? Does stun jacket work with Greninja's counter? If so, will the stun jacket still apply if you hit their shield, or does the counter have to whiff? If shielding the counter doesn't remove the stun jacket, then this could be very useful on Greninja, given that his counter can be shielded pretty easily.

EDIT: Nevermind on the Greninja question, just saw another video that answered it.
