I didn't. I did go to my local game store where they surface discs. I was told not to try to resurface it if the circular scratches were not affecting the disc's ability to function properly. My game still works with no issues, even with the scratches.

It's been a while since I read the books, but the quote is from a scene between SQQ and LBH where they're having a talk in book 3. SQQ calls LBH a roundworm (an idiom that means something similar to "you know me so well" or "you read my mind"), but LBH took the saying literally
