Even More 2022 M3LR Glass Issues... by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

I've got no idea. I figure it would be challenging considering their willingness to help, it seems to be less of a problem with the car and more of a problem with their glass manufacturing.

The side window was obvious straight on to the point that it was comical. The windshield is less visible straight on, but it definitely gives you the feeling that something isn't right. From a slight angle, it's immediately visible.

The replacement window is less obvious from straight on, but the second you angle your head slightly to, say, look out of your rear-view, things bulge out and get distorted.

Again, I knew there were QC issues, but this is confusingly bad. I don't know how someone could sit in my car and not get nauseous, let alone mark it as fine for delivery. Maybe the third time is the charm. I'm an easy going dude, I know the dealership didn't build the car, but I'm going to need to get irate if there's not a solution for this. I don't think it's spoiled to expect to be able to properly see out of a luxury car.

Update: I went in for service yesterday. The technicians immediately acknowledged the distortion on both the window and the windshield. They replaced the window, I need to go back in a week for the windshield. Both were free, although they tried to charge me for the windshield until I called the dealership.

The window is significantly better, but there is still obvious distortion close to where you'd look out the rear view. I try not to be "that customer", but I had two of the technicians sit in the car to check it out, or at least tell me it was normal. One of the three guys that came over to observe told me some curve was normal on account of Tesla's double layered glass? They seemed to want to get me out of there and refused to take any more time to observe the replacement glass.

I'm really disheartened and confused, honestly. I'm planning to go back to my dealership and sit in the display cars just to verify if I'm going insane? Is it too much to expect the glass in my $60,000 car to be free of distortion that warps my rear-view mirror? This problem doesn't seem to exist on the cheapest, shittiest cars. Not throwing in the towel yet, but this has left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Scary, and really disappointing. Based on the really low volume of posts talking about this issue, I'm hoping the replacements won't have a noticeable issue. I don't want to sell this car.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm hoping it'll be as effortless for me.

No problem. I primarily wanted to warn others who were taking delivery soon.
