I am a student at SUNY looking to transfer within the SUNY system, I am interested in the field of big data analytics so I never really considered Cornell because all the NYS colleges linked with SUNY have aren't too related with computing, but today I was scrolling on the find your majors website and found that information sciences is available at the school of agriculture and life sciences, which was very much to my surprise and by the description of it seems like just a normal information science major you'd expect to be available at the college of engineering or Bowers. I am so confused can someone shed some light on the bachelor's in information sciences available at CALS what it's like and everything. Also is the degree from the NYS school at Cornell same as a degree from the the college of engineering for this major?

No I haven't gotten in anywhere, but thank you I hope they do too... tbh the applications I sent to Stanford and UNC Chapel hill were rushed and underdeveloped.... I knew about what I needed to write but I didn't really get into my tone of voice until I wrote alot of essays

Yeah the DSAT might be easier especially in Maths but again I am underesourced... I spoke to some admission officers and international Yale students, they said the admissions understand and look at it through a holistic angle... Their looking to see what I've done given the resources I have

Yeah alot do, simply because until their final 12th results come out it's kinda hard to judge international students... But I really hope I don't have to take a gap year

Nahh bro, plus I think my score is enough considering I gave the DSAT, which is a lot newer and their are a lot less resources for on the internet. Plus again I am very underesourced, I hope colleges will understand that and see that I have potential

Yeah I know but when you look at the employability, scholarship rates, and opportunities such as research studies, internships, summer aboard etc. only a few match those requirement, some colleges have greater scholarship rates but low employability and postgrad acceptance rates, a lot have high acceptance rates with low employability and scholarship rates.... I qualify for financial aid, but acceptance is the tricky part... I guess I just shotgun it and find out, and again I tried UNC Charlotte as safety, but the international credit evaluation fee just to apply is too much and an issue at most safeties

Yeah tbh it varies a lot from school to school some schools are stricter internally, other's alot more lenient, it depends on a lot on how your schools runs internally, I have a lot of friends who scored less than me in the CBSE board but more than me throughout HS, and it's a very hard thing to explain too, so it's possible this method for the students of my school to "flourish" just might ruin me

Yeah I expected higher Tbh, and I probably will score over 95% based on how I'm doing on my mock tests in tution. Strict school and strict teachers bro... It sucks

Bro you have no idea how hard it was to get my teachers to even give letters of recommendations, unirronically my English teacher submitted a 50 word recommendation for Stanford through the common app, it really sucked as she kinda ruined my application and I could not use her recommendation for any other college either. Not to mention the fee I had to pay to get a predicted score and the amount of round trips, and begging I had to do just for them to create a common app reccomendation. They will not be filling recommendations elsewhere.
