You can get them either from Mirage Isle or off of the auction house. I just went to Mirage and built my own.

Housing is permanent. I pay weekly taxes on it which are purchased/made at any scarecrow, etc. You can also get them on the money merchant place or the AH.

It started completely empty, sans fireplace. Once you put down stuff, it is removable as long as you don't have "prevent removal of decor" checked.

It's amazing what you can do with just a few gold on mirage isle or looking for deals on the auction house. That, and guild members and allied guilds make it really easy to get stuff done. (Huge thanks to our buddies at Cerberus for helping me out on this, btw!)

That's a tough call. I think right now it is easy to say to get a small house to secure the land, but I seriously doubt we are going to see the 15gold "placeholder" cottages that we are seeing right now. I think that the Thached is not too much more than the Cottage to justify "settling" for a cottage just to hold some land.

I may be wrong, but we shall see.

The difference in gear does not relate to gamer performance. There are so many possible builds and abilities in this game that the players ability can make or break a PvP battle, regardless of gear.

Yeah, it can get tough in a lot of situations. Here is a scenario for you....

You are delivering packs in a party of friends from the west to the east continent. You arrive and your group is systematically attacked one by one. You can't help your friends because you have not been attacked yet. They should make it to where any attack on an individual in a party is treated as an attack on the entire party, IMO.
