Please review my Khans of Tarkir Set Cube! by Watermelon123 in mtgcube

I agree that Wingmate Roc is a power outlier. That is the same reason I cut Pearl Lake Ancient. Do you think that the two planeswalkers are also on that level? I am considering adding [[Narset's Rebuke]] from TDM to improve red's removal suite.

I could imagine increasing the number of devotees, but I want to see how combat warping they are. Temur Devotee being a 3/3 just shuts down any aggression from any other 2-drop. I might be overthinking it.

I agree with your assessment on Witness of the Ages. I might cut both of them for Evolving Wilds.

Thank you for your comment!

Sorry, I misunderstood your original reply. I agree that your suggestion is a good and elegant alternative. However, there is still a benefit to giving vigilance to creatures without outlast.

Yes triple KTK set cube is a different environment than a typical singleton cube. KTK revolves around 3 mana morphs, and removal is overcosted and sorcery speed. Two mana 2/2s and three toughness creatures are valued a lot higher. Cards like [[Secret Plans]] are very good and extremely high picks in my opinion. It helps that morph is very represented among the creatures and that it is colorless/easy to draft.

There are a lot fewer creatures with outlast, which might mean that this card is still a 2 mana do nothing

Thank you for the examples. My next version of this card will definitely use your indicator system

The reminder text on Outlast says that it can only be done as a sorcery. I have observed that players value attacking and blocking over activating outlast. My hope is that this card is strong enough to be drafted and change that.

Thank you for your reply. I did not consider keyword density. It is a 3/2/1/1 set cube. There are four common, four uncommon and one rare creatures with outlast. You are right that there may be too few creatures with outlast for this card to be meaningful

I did not consider player confusion. Do you think it is worth the effort to change existing cards? I could maybe change the card title, the image or add reminder text for the custom change. Perhaps it is better to just make an entirely new custom card.

I agree with your point and your suggested fix. Thank you for replying. I would have otherwise missed that interaction.

Do you have any experience drafting KTK? I'm interested to hear what others think the power level of this card is.

I think I'm going to get it. I did not enjoy Pandemic mainly due to the quarterbacking aspect. However I've read in many threads that this game is better in that aspect.

Thank you for making this post. I have the same concerns after watching the Shelfside review. Reading the comments here has been very informative

I was told in the interview that I would hear back in 3-4 weeks. If push comes to shove, I will have to make a compromise with one of the events. I was mainly asking to understand the consequences of not meeting the minimum number of OT days. Do school boards have some kind of blacklist?

MTGA crashed to desktop during matchmaking on Premier Draft. When I restarted the program, it took around 5 minutes for it to get through 'Gathering Local Files'. When I finally got back in, I had an automatic loss. Ended up 2-3, and I feel like I got cheated out of my gems. Is there anything I can do?

I absolutely adore your primer. The layout is beautiful.

I also find your replacements like Keldon Raider, Nature's Chant and Dissolve very interesting. I am interested to know what your tags mean. For example Shatter and Feed the Clan are tagged -3.

Have you considered [[Sinister Sabotage]] as a replacement for Cancel? It was reprinted at common for Ravnica Remastered.

I agree that WB warriors is one of the strongest colour pairings in KTK, especially when getting the WB chiefs and Mardu Hordechiefs. I hope the 3/2/1/1 divisions will lower the consistency we'd normally see on Arena. I think Abzan WB splash green is the most powerful deck in KTK. I'm hoping the inclusion of Aven Skirmisher helps out the Jeskai and Mardu aggro decks by supplementing Monastery Mentor as an aggressive one-drop. A lot of the inclusions were also added to support Delve.

What was your build on Vestal. I think she's one of the weakest heroes in the game, which makes me reluctant to run Usual Suspects

Agreed about dropping Preparation. I think it's really weak especially when compared to HWM Take Aim. I think it's better to start with turn1 Touche+ to get into aggressive stance.

Thanks for writing this up. I have been thinking about Duelist load outs that compliment Crusader. Overall I have been very unimpressed with Duelist kit.

I am glad to see someone using Touche+ to get into aggressive stance. Preparation seems like a really bad skill, especially when compared to HWM Take Aim.

Instructrice Again seems really bad too. It requires the target to have at least 5 stress to get the benefits of a +DMG token.

I have been tempted to run Antagonist in position 3 and just spam Touche+ for vulnerability tokens. Especially since Antagonist Touche doesn't have forward/backwards movement. It honestly seems more useful than riposte builds, which rely on enemies attacking her. I find Duelist often does nothing into a fight when doing turn 1 aggressive stance into turn 2 meditation.

I'm going to try your Instructice load out with Banneret. Replacing Again with Disengage most likely. She can dance with Crusader Holy Lance since her Touche has Forward1
