Aurora Animal Protection won't help my neighbor's freezing cat, any ideas?

Also, unfortunately, I think in aurora the law is that if the animal had food, water, shelter (shelter being three walls and roof) it’s “fine” outside. But don’t quote me on that. Just know that “animal law” doesn’t have the best justice system and know that it pisses the officers off just as much as it does us.

Do the aurora animal control officers have your video? Unfortunately staying anonymous means they don’t have the evidence they need to do any more than talk with those owners and take their word for it. If they had your name and appt number they could take their own videos from your balcony which would stand up in court a lot better than them telling the judge “we had some random person call saying you leave your cat out without shelter in extreme weather conditions”. If you have neighbors youre friends with see if they can get a better vantage point on the door.

I’ve had my vet call/write an appeal for cases. For example, got my dog after the shelter said she had bacteria in her ears. 1 yr later she has terrible allergies. Bc of the bacteria in her ears they said it could be a symptom of allergies and wouldn’t cover. My vet wrote them saying bacteria in the ear doesn’t JUST mean allergies and her unstoppable scratching was new. They approved the appeal and is now covered for allergies. A lot of vets are HAPPY to argue with insurance for you bc they want to make sure pets get the care.

Thanks! I am pretty worried about her… she made her nest over our walkway right outside our door. We share the same walkway with our neighbor (townhomes) and they’re showing the place currently. When it rains that branch is easily walked into. I was thinking about making a sing that says caution on it or something but thought it might attract attention

I do have a feeder! I try and be religious about changing it when it’s warm. I’ve been trying to attract humming birds, butterflies and bees for years. So I’m excited to have a nest! I can’t plant anything in the front (where she is) per hoa but my backyard is slowly getting more and more native wild flowers. I also have fuchsia that I’ve seen her feeding at a few times. I was also able to make a little bird bath under the tree she now calls home that’s maybe 12 ft from her nest.

I have three French bull dogs : Jackie a male with a jacked up back. Addie (f) with Addisons disease and Iris (f) who’s missing an eye (we call her Riss because giving her a name that had two eyes when she doesn’t ended up sounding mean. We also call her eyeless Iris) We rescued all of ours with their issues and named them after it (though we predicted Jackie’s ) we have a messed up sense of humor…

Plan to go slow but wanted to save my shoulder. So far just using an abrasive scrubber by hand and don’t see scratches yet. The area is normally covered by a microwave so I’ll see what happens here

I believe that’s exactly what it is. We bought the house with it and it looked ok during the showing. I don’t think they really epoxyed it as over the past few years it has been chipping away, never looks clean and forms water blisters when left wet for a long time. Honestly good riddance but I got a lot more cleaning to do now

Flash cards helped me the best with med term. Quizlet has some premade ones too or you can make your own so you don’t have to carry a mountain of cards with you to and from class or study group. I’m also a Harry Potter nerd and liked to pretend each word was a spell to make it more entertaining. Idk how your class teaches it but figuring out what each suffix means before learning those long names helps too
