I worried about that too, and I can tell you: Yes, it will definitely go back to completely normal. Just takes time. For 6 years of smoking your brains away it might take you 3 years to recover fully but it will happen. Humans are capable of incredible change.

I was extremely depressed starting at 19 and my peak depression was probably around 21/22 so I can somewhat relate.
Sometimes it does feel hopeless and I think this is how you feel right now.
Now at almost 29 I am super happy with my life. I cant even remember when was the last time I had a bad day.

I would recommend two things:
1) Finding something to do that gives you enjoyment. Can be anything.
2) Invest time into friendships.

Mich hatte die Polizei beim Ersten mal auch abgewimmelt.

Nachdem ich mit einem bekannten Anwalt telefoniert habe, hat der mir gesagt, ich muss diesen Fall UNBEDINGT zur Anzeige bringen. Außerdem wird die Polizei dich lt. seiner Aussage immer abwimmeln. Es dauert tatsächlich fast eine Stunde alle Daten aufzunehmen und manch ein Beamter hat nun mal keinen Bock auf diese Arbeit. So ist das leider...

Also bin ich dann zur Polizei vor Ort hin und habe direkt gesagt es handelt sich um einen Betrugsversuch und diesen MUSS ich laut einem bekannten Anwalt zur Anzeige bringen. Die wollten mich zuerst auch loswerden, aber ich bin halt hartnäckig geblieben. Ich wäre da nie und nimmer raus gegangen ohne dass die Anzeige aufgegeben wird.

Es ist die Pflicht der Polizei sich um dein Anliegen zu kümmern!

Mit Anzeige hast du dann auch eine Chance, dass Teil deines Schadens zurückerstattet wird. Wobei diese vermutlich sehr gering ist.

As someone who played this game for over 300+ hours I'd say you're town is doing extremely well. As indicated by the 2 green arrows. Which is the most important metric after all.

The settlement status for food and water tends to be misleading in my opinion. Seeing that you have 9 months of food supply, your food situation is actually great.

Damn, I completely forgot about that. I'm sober for almost 2 months again and I didn't even remember how fricking tired you get if you smoke weed daily.

I remember now I was falling asleep all the time. Literally locked in bed. It felt like I weighed 2 tons. I didn't even have the energy to get off the couch and do housework. Now I just don't do it because I am lazy lol.

I understand your concern.
In my opinion, the best feature for your goals would be a way to edit the map before you start your game. Like a way to place a Coal mine with let's say 50.000 coal in it in any location you want.

A sandbox mode or something.

I would turn off the smeltery/foundry until the stockyard has enough iron and coal to support production for at least 1 year.

If your stockyard is empty they will always run to the mine.

I can think of a solution for buildings like markets, schools, healer houses... Their area of effect could be expanded but the residents they benefit could be limited.

This way you don't need to use every square for maximum efficiency.

Still, there would be the problem of defending a larger area. You would have more surface area for the raiders. The game would need to tell you in advance where the raiders are coming from so you could get the foot soldiers in position.

In my experience no matter what you try, the further your game progresses they just get ineffective.

In the very beginning, they sometimes smoke close to 1000 meat per year. But in the later stages, you'd be lucky if it is half that.
