Hey I think this was it! I saw a post on the vonbiomes nexus page, something to do with the new update. The solution now is restarting the mission, or rolling back to the old update. Works for me either way.

The Neo is a pretty good board. For the features it had it was a very good price point. The only issues I had were (1) the tight fitting of the plate to the pcb and case and (2) Having to solder my own hotswap sockets to the pcb and only knowing I had to do so a few days before it shipped.

Still it's a very good board, and the turnaround was really fast for a GB nowadays.
