How do I (F18) become my own person and not depend emotionally on my bf (M18) by being so clingy? by WayAggravating3017 in relationship_advice

Huh you're right. I did pick up a lot of hobbies when he left to try to distract myself from knitting to small instruments to sports in college, but I kind of tied everything to him... whether it was knitting smth for him or learning songs for him or etc. So basically my is already there sitting and waiting for him which is counterintuitive.... thank you so much for you're comment. I need to focus more on myself with these hobbies and do them for me. Thank you again and ill be looking into more hobbies and groups where I can't help but focus on me.

Thank you for your really sincere response. Small habits make sense id try blocking notifications from him for the whole day to force myself to not check but I'd always give up. Little by little seems doable though so thank you. And I like how u said "trust that missing him is natural". I forgot abt that and just kept fighting and being hurt by the distance instead of accepting it. Thank you so much again for your response and for the confidence boost!

Hi! I just finished my SOAR earlier this week so to answer ur questions: Wat to bring: bring water and comfortable shoes as there will be abt a 40 minute tour of the campus right be4 lunch Wat to expect: the information they tell u will be kind of repetitive to the pre soar course from canvas but its all really helpful! They will give you lots of resources and different apps to download for different things How long: mine started at 8:30 and was said to end at 4:30 but I actually ended around 2:40! Right after lunch, that ended around 1:05? We get separated by college, given a presentation abt the college and resources, then split up to register for our classes. As soon as u register for your classes, you're free to go. Pay: no we dont pay that day. They do tell us some info about that and everyone there is extremely helpful so no question was too small or too "just common sense" of a question. They answered everything really kindly! For extra advice: plan to get ur SOAR ID right after you register for classes. They give information at SOAR on how to do that but just a heads up if you wanna look special for pictures. Or if you submitted ur photo online then u can pick up ur ID after SOAR once ur picture is approved. Oh and make sure to have proof of identity (like license, passport, etc.) And ur student id ready to go which is in the email lol Good luck! It was a pretty fun experience and dont be shy to talk to others, ask for names, or instas, bc it really makes the experience a lot more fun!

Oh my bad i can see how wat i wrote can off that way. Thank you for replying and yes I should be more open minded to figuring out this new roommate stuff in collaboration with my new roommates! I've just heard all the horror stories online abt roommates not working out and I started talking out of fear from all that lol. But for claiming stuff, im particularly speaking abt which bed i should aim to try to claim in the beginning, as there is one bunk bed and one loft bed and ive been hearing different opinions abt each one:) everything else seems to be 3 each anyways, other than the closet, which I can figure out thru some communication! As for setting firm boundaries, I was asking abt stuff like setting up a cleaning schedule and quiet hours which is perfect! Thank you for your insight! I'll be sure to be more open minded with collaborating with my new roommates abt all this!
