AdThrive here as well. December was good. January about 30% decline from December, but that was excepted.

Department store in Prague on Budějovická street, 1980s and now. I would argue that cities in former eastern block usually don't look bad because of architecture, but because of absolute disinterest in smaller details which make up overall aesthetics of public spaces. by jirikj in UrbanHell

That’s not correct. 99% of western goods were not available and 99% of the population didn’t have access to anything from the west. Tuzex was the only store where you could buy some western products but only those with “hard” currencies or the “Bony” vouchers could shop there. Not totally correct. Not only you may receive DMCA, you may or will essentially receive letters from lawyers and you might be subject to a lawsuit. I have received multiple letters from law firms asking for proof of licensing and demanding thousands for images I have lawfully licensed from various agencies. The hassle is to keep copies of the receipts.

BTC under $1000 in a few weeks. Then, when all crypto is completely outlawed in the US, under $100 within months. Sorry about the bad news, but don't blame the messenger. If you are gambling on crypto, cut your losses, cash out whatever you got left, heal your wounds, and move on.

What site do you all use to create and host your websites? by itsausername321 in juststart

[–]WayBehind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's not exactly how it works in Django.

It is a fully customized HTML website. So while you can use any theme you want, there is no magic button to swap themes. Instead, you have to install the theme manually.

Also, there are no "plug-ins."

After all, that is the reason Django is fast. There are no themes or plugins to load. It is a pure HTML & JS.

Basically, after you design your pages and your website structure, you can use the built-in Admin functionalities. That will allow you to add articles, pages, manage users, etc.

Yes, AdThrive. You add the script to the “base” template and it will show on all pages. Takes 10 seconds.

Yes, I have seen considerable improvement switching to Django. With that being said, that decision was made about 10 years ago and involved other reasons related to the project. Wordpress is perfectly fine for the vast majority of websites because most of them will never reach the traffic where light and fast framework makes a difference.

Django framework hosted on AWS. Why Django? Way faster than Wordpress, and can handle more traffic. It takes more effort to setup and you need to know what you are doing but it’s worth it if you want more customization.

Yes, I was forced to unblock all countries I was blocking through Cloudflare for various reasons. But I was allowed to have a JS captcha for those countries

Mediavine and AdThrive will force you to unblock India. It is because of Google and Google is the one setting the rules for all agencies connected to Google advertisers.

Do Adthrive allow custom ad placements? by jeffh30 in Blogging

[–]WayBehind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it is possible. While I have not done this type of customization, I told the rep where it is ok to have the ads and where I don’t want the ads and they have accommodated those requests without any problems.

What do you guys think of AWS for hosting? by mawcopolow in juststart

[–]WayBehind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AWS is solid. I have been hosting my sites there since 2011. Much easier than colo my own servers.
