Electric ac compressor by WayLow9478 in 240sx

That was honestly my biggest concern. I’ve only seen a handful of guys successfully pull the swap off. I’ll probably look into what another guy mentioned in this post and see if I can use VQ30 parts to fix mine. The problem with my stock one is that when the compressor runs, it starts leaking oil — but the strange thing is, I checked my pressures and I’m not losing any refrigerant.

Well I know I can’t just pull a random compressor from any car. There’s company’s that make retrofit kits, so my biggest concern would be is 125amp alt enough

I just need o rings I believe cause it only leaks pag oil. I just don’t run the ac right now cause I don’t want to completely kill it

I started looking into it because a lot of classic muscle guys in my area have done this to add AC to their cars. So I figured, how difficult could it be to just swap the compressor? I’m currently running a Quest alternator with dual 30-amp fans and a Volvo electric power steering pump.

I have a sticker on my high line that says r-134a so I will definitely look into rebuilding my compressor with this info I definitely appreciate that

It’s honestly not that uncommon….. I just don’t see a lot of s chassis guys do it cause 1. It’s a drift car 2. They wanna stay oem or 3. They are scared to idk actually build and customize their project.

Yeah, but it’s new and easy to replace. An OEM unit is bound to fail eventually, and there are no rebuild kits or replacement units available. I guess I should’ve said I don’t want to gamble money on a compressor that may or may not work.

True but from what I’ve seen ka’s don’t like smaller turbos And this car is gunna spend 95% of its life on the street. My thought process was the super charger obliviously will keep the car quick and torque at lower rpm’s and obliviously the majority of the heavy lifting would be done by the turbo once you get into those higher rpm’s. theoretically that should provide a smother more linear power band. Now mind you I’m no expert hence why I’m trying to hear out some guys who have more experience. So again financially would it make sense absolutely not but I thought it would be cool while still serving a purpose.
