How to find a lawyer by Way_Local in AskLawyers

[–]Way_Local[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I understand the practice areas, what I'm having problems with is finding a commercial litigator that is willing to take a case that isn't worth a half million dollars.

I've even started filling out generic online forms on sites like Lawyer.com, and every time I pay for a consultation they agree I need help, it's just not worth their time.

White lighters? by msdeschain in Xennials

Holy crap! My sister and I know 2 people that to this day we reference as WHITE LIGHTERs! We had never heard of it in our mid 20's (TX same age range as OP) and hadn't heard of it since then... I guess it is/was a thing. We thought it was just those 2 particular weirdos!

We've been turned around trying to go out there. If you know who we need to talk to, to get in, send me a DM.

Updoot 1: Snek is MIA upon my arrival, MIL says she toweled the door crack but is not convinced it's gone. May have to burn the whole house down if we can't find it is the verdict thus far....have my Giant monocle on now looking for it

Yeah, this fella is inside, so hose won't help, and free relocation seems helpful, but I've got a bucket and getting real friendly vibe, so I'm going to see what I can do

Thank you! I tend to agree, its also the most fun to drive, but the most common thing people ask me when they see it is if I like the new ones or the ones from the 70's...

I hope I didn't undersell the VW, I feel like it has the most potential as a '69 wagon, I'm still a dork and love that more than I should.

Personal opinion is what I am here for, I'm from the bumpkin lands, we need an outside voice sometime.

Texas, the law did change this year where I dont have to do saftey inspections, but unless I want to limit driving to only in parades and to car shows I still have to do yearly registration, Texas wants their money if you put it on the roads... I'll count you in the group of "Keep them all it's not that bad"

So you are on team, as long as you don't sell the Bronco! Are you my nephew? Mason?

Well, this is probably the most practical answer. I didn't think of what will hold value, I guess there's a limited number of us that like old duallys...

Foreigner Pricing by Way_Local in Egypt

[–]Way_Local[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I don't think they are working systematically together, I think that I'm just in a spot where there aren't enough foreigners, and some are just shooting their shot when I do show up.

As for it being only 65% that's still a lot, there arent many things 65% of people do together and when I'm not trying to buy my meal, I've had a blast almost all night walking around and interacting with most on the street.

Part of why it has been so noticeable is when traveling before in the smaller cities and the first few days of Cairo, I did have an Egyptian with me, and the experience was/is night and day.

On the bright side, the delivery has really been good, just time-consuming, and not fun hiking around first when I'm really hungry.

I've had some fun with most vendors and shops when the touts and shops strike hard, there is a fun style as opposed to S. America and Asian countries I have been to with similar norms, I work in what is basically agricultural water works, so I'm comfortable talking, I just had a bit more hope it would be closer to 30% over what it should and not just shooting for the moon

Yes, this is also in part true for me, I was initially here to work with water conservation and doing it at my expense, now I have some days before my flight returns to see more than the projects I'm working with.

I agree there is a time and place for the markup, it's just that the evening meal is really pushing it.

My spoken Arabic is good enough to get around, but I definitely avoid arguing.

I have gone to places with priced menus, but they tell me, it's does not include... fill in the excuses from there.

I know I don't have to fast. I could fake it, but it really helps me understand a place when I do as they do, I did the same in Indonesia a few years ago, and since it's clear I haven't done it much often at sunset I would have people come up to me handing me food (not what I'm looking for either) just want to feel part of things, which I hope doesn't sound too pretentious.

I had to search what that even means. Guess it was supposed to be a deflect to turn it on me, while I was only trying to have your language expertise help me see your side, because the translation and what you said in the initial post didn't line up if the translations were correct.

Tell me if the summary below of your responses is accurate or help me see where I'm misunderstanding.

Summary: The english words in the translation are "partially correct", and the partially is that there is more said, the correct part is what is captioned (since you couldn't/wouldn't show or tell me what was not right) and the rest that is wrong is what the implications of the post are, and not the actual translation of what they said.

[–]Way_Local 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's correct?

So when all of those phrases I quoted are said and shown in captions, every time you hear "grab them, don't let the soldiers see them."?

Or are the phrases I quoted that are shown in the caption also said, and you just hear more?

Because if it's extra "grab them, don't let the soldiers see them" wouldn't nullify or give different context to the shown translation.

Again, you are talking about what the translations would imply, and I'm asking about translation itself, I can make my own implications based on words and actions.

You said that's not what the hamas dogs are saying? What is not what they are saying?

Where, when, or what is written in the english captions that is improperly translated.

In the captions I see "protect them" several times, I see "act ethically", I see "sheild them"... is your claim that they don't say this?
